Time for an update!
Three more Bond's for you to enjoy, once again I am open to any suggestions for how to improve or for futre entries!
Moonrkaer
One of the more preposterous Bond films sees Bond, this time played by Roger Moore, blasted into outer space. I have used an old yellow space suit as the Moonrkaer jumpsuits worn in the film, I briefly considered making Bond flesh coloured in this figure, but decided against it. He is armed here with a Moonraker laser, though really it should be white or grey.
The Living Daylights
This time around, Timothy Dalton's Bond helps the Afghan resistance overthrow a Soviet airbase in Afghanistan, and wears the appropriate clothing. He should be armed with an AK-47 but I can't find a purist solution that looks close enough, any ideas are welcome! In the meantime I have given him the same sniper rifle piece as in From Russia with Love.
Casino Royale
Daniel Craig's first outing as Bond is grittier than most of the previous entries, and though he does wear his trademark Tuxedo for most of the film, I have given him the tough leather jacket he wears at the begining. His face is also more rugged than before and covered with bruises and scratches. As the film revolves around the poker tables, Bond has a hand of cards.
Thanks again for looking and your kind comments!
James Bond will return in;
The Spy Who Loved Me
For Your Eyes Only
Die Another Day
Skyfall

It's one of mine too! Along with From Russia with Love and Casino Royale, shame Lazenby never played Bond again

Hi
I have decided to create a custom minifigure of James Bond for each of the official films, which will eventually include the soon to be released Spectre. For each film, I am trying to recreate Bond's 'signature look' which is easier for some films than others, any ideas, comments and criticism is welcome.
These are the ones completed so far, all are purist
Dr. No
Being the first film, I went for Bond's iconic tuxedo and, since the only guns are revolvers which don't really match what Bond uses, I have given him a Martini glass.
From Russia with Love
For most of the film, Bond wears a light grey suit and tie, this one I think is a good match. I have given him the sniper rifle he uses in the film and the brown suitcase represents the Lektor machine he is assigned to steal from the KGB.
Goldfinger
One of the most famous scenes in Goldfinger has Bond and the villain play a tense game of golf. The outfit here is very similar to Bond's but in the wrong colour, his sweater should be a dark red or brown, but I haven't found a better match so far. He is seen here holding the bar of Nazi gold he wagers against Goldfinger in the match.
You Only Live Twice
In You Only Live Twice, Bond must disguise himself as a Japanese fisherman in order to infiltrate Blofelt's base. I have recreated that look here with a black kimono and
Japanese wig. While Bond himself does not actually wield a samurai sword in the film, several other characters do and it seemed a good fit.
On Her Majesty's Secret Service
The first film without Sean Connery, hence I have given Bond a different face and hair. For much of the story, Bond impersonates a Scottish Baronet, in appropriate attire. As he proposes marriage in the film, I have given him a wedding ring.
Licence To Kill
One of Timothy Dalton's two films sees Bond pitted against the evil drug dealer Franz Sanchez and cut off from MI6, so his sharp suits give way to more practical clothing. As the story revolves around drugs and money, including $5 million dollars Bond steals from Sanchez, Bond has a bank note here.
These are all of the Bond's I have completed so far. Most of the other films are somewhere in the pipeline!
Coming soon;
The Spy who Loved Me
Moonraker
The Living Daylights
Die Another Day

Regarding the PS, both branches of Smyths Toys in Belfast have several copies on sale.
-
The parts needed box at the beginning of each stage gives the part numbers, you can put those into Brickset and it will give you the colours, bit round about but it works
-
Thanks, I'm looking at dark tan, brown and maybe earth green, I'll be sure to post pictures when it's done, but it will be a while!
-
My own person taste, and this is purely based on what I like, would say that the groove in the sand green brick is more important than the color of the brick. Texture over color. So, if I were to brick link it, I'd go with blue since the grooved blue brick is apparently more cost effective.
I agree. The brick is now available in tan, from one of the minecraft sets I think so I'm considering building it in that colour, I'll probably refit it as a different business though, perhaps a butcher.

I'd like to see transport police, not sure about other countries but the UK has a dedicated force who protect airports, train stations, ports etc, they also carry out the role of customs officers which would allow for some cool sets, maybe they could impound a shipping container full of illegal cookies?
-
Does this mean that the traditional blue and green 32x32 baseplates will disappear? I notice both are sold out on the UK lego shop
-
Or a Vespa repair shop, that would be quite good actually
-
Can anyone share what they think the clue was from the PR for the DO?
Isn't there usually something in a previous set that hints toward the next Modular?
Maybe it goes further back, didn't the girl in the TH have a magnifying glass?
-
The details in this are amazing! Look at the detective's room, it looks like there is something hidden behind a painting, a safe maybe?
-
the museum reached 10K supporters today on Lego ideas...will be interesting to see where that goes...if we have 2 buildings, a bar lower with the agency on top and the barber shop next door, can you really call the modular a detective agency then? Business offices or something like that makes more sense than detective agency when that is only on 1 of potentially 6 floors. Doesn't really matter, I am going into details really, I am up for anything at this point.
The Pet Shop is called such but only occupies one of 6 floors, I think the name is more for indentification than anything else.
-
Have you considered the SW Rebel Mechanics overalls for Rimmer? Their tan colour is closer to the uniform he wore for a lot of the show, though he did switch to blue later.
-
Let's not forget the postal service which uses red uniforms and a yellow colour scheme (at least the last postal sets, which were a few years ago) so that would apparently rule out the US who use blue, Britain who use Red and Ireland who use Green.
And then there's the matter of unarmed police and criminals who wear stripey jumpsuits which I have never seen outside Buggs Bunny cartoons

No, not possible, and here's why: confederates are often associated with racism. Now we can debate politics all day, whether such a figure would indeed be racist or not, but the fact remains that when people see a confederate, they know what cause they were fighting for (well, it was actually way more complex than that, but whatever), so LEGO would be taking a bit of a risk making one.
Playmobil had both confederate and union soldiers in its Wild West theme if they could do it I don't see why Lego can't
-
Another stat to look at is the brickset community stats:
Can't really take them at their word though, look up any 2015 set, surprising how many people already own it!
-
Here's something weird, both the fence with 2 knobs and the fence with 4 knobs are available on bricks n pieces. In fact the 2 knob version is 4 pence cheaper on the UK shop.
-
Or we could wildly speculate on the 2016 modular;
Hey did you hear the new modular is a slaughterhouse? With new tiles printed with blood splashes, a butchers van and a new mould of a cow that's been cut in half?
Maybe not....
-
Rather than two modulate a year, I think it would be good if they brought out one 'full' modular ie 32x32 a year, say in January, then in about July they had a 16x32 modular, essentially one half of the PS for £70-£80 instead of £120-£160. It would be a good way for the line to expand and allow people who can't necessarily afford to buy modular to be a part of the line.

1. A sports person, a golfer or cricketer
2. A Canadian Mountee
3. To join the vampire, wolfman, Jekyll/Hyde etc, an invisible man, legs torso and head all transparent with a brown version of the Judge's robes and a fedora, I've made this in LDD and it looks really cool.
4. A school boy/girl short legs, a printed uniform a satchel, a new mould or Indy's bag, and an apple maybe.
5. Medieval Minstral with a new lute piece
6. Ballerina with new tutu piece fitting between the legs and torso
7. Delivery man a FedEx type uniform, a parcel and printed clipboard tile.
8. Dog, the obligatory man dressed as animal character, possibly would have a bone
9. Bomb disposal technician, dressed in the big armoured suit they wear with wire cutters and a bomb with red and blue wires to cut.
10. Farmer with new shovel, pitchfork or other tool, or a proper double barrelled shotgun and an animal of some kind
11. Jogger, track suit, headphones and water bottle
12. Morris Dancer, costume sticks and bells
13. Old fashioned photographer with a hugely elaborate camera and cloak over his head
14. Spy, probably not going to happen but I'd love to see a tuxedo wearing James Bond character
15. Tourist, loud shirt, a camera, Panama hat and a map
16. Dentist, with a big, big drill!
-
I agree, the Detective Agency should have a worn faded look like it's withstood years of wind and rain. The brighter colours are more suited to maybe shops or restaurants
-
I'd be a fan of medium nougat, in fact I've used in in LDD for my modular hospital. There was also a sand red that was used in some of the old Life on Mars sets I think. I'm surprised that hasn't made a come back it seems and obvious choice for a modular
-
Apparently I have "used all of my allocated disk space" for posting pictures so it looks like I can't post anything more, sorry
James Bond
in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Posted
Apologies for the lack of updates, I am waiting on some new parts to be delivered!
In the meantime, two more Bond's are completed.
The Spy who Loved Me
This time around, Bond (Roger Moore) is searching for a missing nuclear submarine. As he visits a Royal Navy ship in the film, he wears his uniform as a Commander. I have recreated it here along with the case of sensitive documents he carries.
For Your Eyes Only
In For Your Eyes Only, Roger Moore's Bond is sent to the Mediterranean to recover the top secret ATAC device before the Russians. The film ends with an assault on the mountain stronghold of Aris Kirstatos, a traitorous Greek shipping magnate who has stolen ATAC, Like the Goldfinger minifigure, this jacket looks good but is the wrong colour. I have also given Bond a recreation of ATAC.
So far I have ideas for all the films except A View to a Kill, Tomorrow Never Dies and Quantum of Solace, if anyone has any ideas for purist figs to represent them, please share!
