I know that base plates are now packed by new materials. They look like kinds of paper, and less plastic. Does anyone know if water and liquids are still impermeable to the new package of the base plates? This is important for me because if water and liquids are somehow permeable I'll move them in a better place for storage.

It's paper packaging, so it's probably not waterproof. Better safe than sorry and move them anyway!
