Dazenie Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 Great plane but it would be even more realistic if the whole radial engine spun round that's what they do in real life. Quote
AkiyamaWataru Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 dazenie you're wrong. In WWI the planes had engine with revolving cylinders. In German they were called "Umlaufmotor". Late planes from WWI had stationary cylinders. Quote
Littleworlds Posted February 2, 2017 Posted February 2, 2017 The plane looks very impressive. It must been a lot of work to get the shape and all the functions right - great job As for engines: The plane looks to me like something from WW2 era, so it should be a radial engine, just as omardib21 built it. Rotary engines were widespread in the first couple of years of WW1, were a dead end and got outclassed by in-line and V-type engines by about late 1916/early 1917. Radials were very rare and only used in small numbers in that conflict. Quote
omardib21 Posted February 3, 2017 Author Posted February 3, 2017 thanks guys! yes its a late 30s plane, but i dont copy any kind of plane, just make a prototype inspired by that era, could be great make a Umlaufmotor, i will test some setups later, loved that idea, they are from 10s, but really enjoyed the way that could be run on it! for now its stationary like Akiwama said :) Quote
