Dapper-D2 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 I present my 1980 Red Trans Am. It is a very sturdy build. Functions include steering via the red knob on trunk (Think 1978 948: Go-Kart), removable T-tops, and opening doors. http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// And video https://www.youtube....h?v=b_T4HSlT0PY Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Nice beauty! I see you used brick-built steering, interesting. Quote
grum64 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 A wonder to behold. I love the Firebird Quote
JDC Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 (edited) Great job representing the Firebird logo on the hood. Excellent. Edited September 5, 2014 by JDC Quote
BusterHaus Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 The Firebird and back end are awesome on this MOC. Quote
Dapper-D2 Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 Thanks all! I used only bricks I had on hand to make it, which made the build fun and challenging. Compromises sometimes lead to good things. Bonus feature: I've included the option to add LEDs, but omitted it for the purposes of the contest. and low beams Also the build is 16 studs wide by 44 studs long. Quote
robuko Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 I have so much love for this. The bonnet is fantastic! Quote
Eraman Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Very good model, i love the hood and the whole car:D Quote
Doc_Brown Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Such an awesome model! True story my parents nearly brought that exact car! I have a 78' on my desk right now and looks so good! My only crit would be that the roof is a touch low, other than that perfect! Quote
Rishab N Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 This is amazing. The hood pattern is beautiful Quote
timslegos Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Nice detail on the hood, it really adds to the model a lot. tim Quote
Dapper-D2 Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 Thanks Guys! I'm glad you like the logo. I had some other ideas for it too, but lacked the pieces. I am going to slowly be working on a black version and will be making some improvements to things I think could be done better. That will require some brick orders though. My only crit would be that the roof is a touch low, other than that perfect! You're right and I can easily tweak that area, although as it is I feel it gives it a strong muscle car stance / vibe. CADScott Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Awesome model, really captures the look, and that hood is fantastic! Quote
EUOfficer Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Great one! Originally I thought about to build the white one. (Using the slopes sideways for more "rounded" look of the body, but I got stacked at the mud-stoppers). Quote
kieran Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Looks fantastic, love the old school turntable steering Quote
