Adolfo Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Hello, my dear AFOLs! I built this MOC for a contest in LUG Brasil. We had to create a medieval village using until 4 standard baseplates (32x32) and I choiced work only with one to practice a little bit in this kind of construction, since I love big MOCs and have more experience on that. It's the first time I participate of a challenge concerning LEGO and also is my first MOC established itself as AFOL. Until today I had only done reproductions of historic buildings and European castles, under a perspective more focused on the concept of reproduction with LEGO, which I feel totally different when we created things from our head, as is the case with this MOC. I think the last time I did something like that, using my imagination, was when I was a kid! I must confess that I liked the final result. It’s very funny participate of this kind of contests, like Guilds of Historica from Eurobricks and others (here in LUG Brasil we have ours and the name of the project is “Realms of Argos”) because it’s a very good way to enjoy the hobby, relax a bit during our free time and a excellent opportunity to improve our techniques, rediscovering the use of bricks of our collection and have fun in LEGO castle theme and similar, going deep in a fantasy and beautiful world. Bellow, you can check some pictures of this MOC and for other better views of details you can access my Flickr profile. Enjoy it! Zerobricks Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I like how you angled the gray tower. Awesome challenge too, 32x32 may seem big but gets small quite fast. I also like the way you used the cross part for the cross. Quote
mrcp6d Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Sweet MOC! It's got a great 1980s-1990s LEGO vibe to it that I appreciate. Also, those flowers on the backside are insane. Awesome challenge too, 32x32 may seem big but gets small quite fast. Agreed. Classic-Castle used to run a 32x32 castle challenge back when I was still lurking that was really fun to watch. I hope they bring it back at some point. Quote
ManInATopHat Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 (edited) Beautiful. Kind of reminds me of Mont Saint Michel with that awesome church (or castle) up on the top of the hill. Edited September 3, 2014 by ManInATopHat Quote
Dzoni90 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Very nice MOC and vegetation is beautiful. Quote
Macsen Wledig Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 This is a beautiful little build. So compact yet so much life. The way you've managed to pack everything in is very clever and really gives the MOC character. I particularily like the winding path and the stone wall/balcony thing. Quote
Hive Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I like it! Impressive how much detail you managed to get in such a relatively small space. Quote
Balthazar Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 That`s so classic! The trees and the houses are so beautiful.. Quote
IenjoyLego89 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Looks really good :) a lot of detail as well :) Quote
mccoyed Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 This is awesome. The proportions aren't quite the usual for the big castle MOCs, so the effect is evocative and cute. A great way to show that simple is sometimes elegant. You should join Guilds of Historica right away. Bring your friends! Quote
Aland1916 Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Great build, I like all those colors. Quote
ElviN Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Nice build! Love those colorful houses among white lilies. Very beautiful and neat! Quote
Adolfo Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Thank you all for the comments! It's always a motivation to keep improving our MOCs. You should join Guilds of Historica right away. Thank you for your invitation! Maybe one day I can MOC there. My tan bricks could fit in Kaliphlin lands. Quote
