Sariel Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 With the arrival of the 76023 set we are sure to see some nice, accurate and great-looking models of the Batpod soon, I have no doubts about it. So I just wanted to make one that works: Pics and reading: http://sariel.pl/2014/08/batpod/ Now I have no idea what else to do with these tires ;) Quote
Balrog Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I like how you made it drive and steer. Seems very smooth. You could now build an american lawn mower. Quote
Rishab N Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Great work. If only the wheels could flip like the movie Quote
Sariel Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 You could now build an american lawn mower. That's an interesting idea, thanks. The only question is, are my hamsters obese enough to emulate an American? ;) Quote
Balrog Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 That's an interesting idea, thanks. The only question is, are my hamsters obese enough to emulate an American? ;) If you stuff them with hamster cookies before filming, then perhaps they are I would worry more about them taking the mower for a killing spree and take over the world Quote
Foggy Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Big compliments for another creation well done! Really cool system for propulsion and steering! Quote
grum64 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) Unbelievable. I love it. I won't pretend to understand the techniques used, it's just brilliant. I'll hazard a guess that your favourite (albeit old) TV programme is Tales of the Riverbank It was my childhood viewing of choice Edited August 31, 2014 by grum64 Quote
miguev Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Great work. If only the wheels could flip like the movie That is exactly what I expected in Sariel's Batpod, but I'm not disappointed :) I knew you'd do this as soon as I saw the new tires. Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I was seriously hoping you'd put a cape on the hamster and drove it about... Still awesome model and presentation! What cams you use for onbody shots? Quote
m0dulo Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 I would worry more about them taking the mower for a killing spree and take over the world Please explain. Quote
Milan Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Please explain. Creator of this batpod likes his hamsters, and sometimes he or his followers discuss these type of scenarios. Quote
m0dulo Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) Creator of this batpod likes his hamsters, and sometimes he or his followers discuss these type of scenarios. Thanks for your input but I was asking Balrog (and indirectly Sariel) about this: The only question is, are my hamsters obese enough to emulate an American? ;) If you stuff them with hamster cookies before filming, then perhaps they are I would worry more about them taking the mower for a killing spree and take over the world Edited September 1, 2014 by m0dulo Quote
Sariel Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 What cams you use for onbody shots? Hero GoPro 3. Thanks for your input but I was asking Balrog (and indirectly Sariel) about this: Well, you can tell hamsters are up to no good. They're scheming all the time and watching you from behind your back: http://img.pandawhale.com/post-14530-Conspiracy-hamster-SOON-gif-5Xob.gif Quote
Balrog Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Please explain. I'd suggest you watch like ... every video Sariel made in the last year. Somewhere it is clearly mentioned that his hamsters are scheming and aiming for world domination by the means of Sariel's creations. Quote
Sariel Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 Apparently it's not only my hamsters ;) https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20101006224330AAa5C4x Quote
Lakop Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I like it. Nice to see those wheels in action. But I would prefer a manual, non RC batpod for kids to whizz around. H Quote
nerdsforprez Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 That's an interesting idea, thanks. The only question is, are my hamsters obese enough to emulate an American? ;) Sariel, I love your stuff. I have bought your new book, have your old one, and love your creations. You are gaining popularity worldwide. Due to this, I would be just a little careful about how you cast yourself. Others are reading this, that are, *gasp*, Americans and may find this a little tasteless. You don't want to offend your fans. That said, once again, thanks for sharing your stuff. Too much fun. I can't wait for your next project and for your new book to come out. Quote
Sariel Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) Sorry, I meant no offense to anyone, it was simply a small joke on the obviously superficial national stereotypes. Nothing I would take seriously - in fact, I did joke about the stereotypical Poles/vodka relationship in my earlier videos ;) Not to mention that none of my books would happen without substantial help of my American friend Blakbird. Again, my apologies if anyone felt offended. I'm not the world's most serious person. Edited September 1, 2014 by Sariel Quote

We would miss out on too many cool Lego models and hamster hilarity........ Quote
sm 01 Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I really like the fact that it is motorized and I think it looks great, especially having all those pf elements. My favorite part is your solution to transfer the power from L motor to the rear wheel - very smart!! Great work as always! These tires look great, pity that they are useless except for bat-vehicles Quote
