xx1Andi Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Hey folks. Today I would like to present a MOC of a tractor. This is an oldtimer tractor DUTRA D4K. It has an 4cylinder serial-engine, permanent 4 wheel drive, swinging front axle, steering, two solenoids with the same pole allows a damping of the seat, there is a lifting a lifting unit and a power take off on the rear side. I built a water cooler a battery a fuel tank and a compressoer. The hood and the roof can be opened. Quote
Doc_Brown Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Woah, I have no idea what that is, but it looks cool. Quote
legolijntje Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Woah, I have no idea what that is, but it looks cool. I can't agree more with that It looks weird and realistic. Nice moc Quote
xx1Andi Posted August 28, 2014 Author Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) Here a link to wiki to explain what it is. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutra_D4K Edited August 28, 2014 by xx1Andi Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Nice representation. Though the original model is quite ugly to be honest. Quote
Dafgek81 Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Very simple, but what a cool tractor. Would be nice to build, because it will not be to expensive to build. Any chance of making instructions? I ain't a very skilled builder, so with only photos I can not build a replica off this. Quote
Paul B Technic Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 That is a very cool looking tractor :) Quote
xx1Andi Posted August 28, 2014 Author Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) I have a complete instruction. Partlist included, presentation included. It should be easy to rebuild and also not too expensive. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pr80sgmbm1wboiq/Bild10.jpg?dl=0 Edited August 28, 2014 by xx1Andi Quote

Rishab N Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Nice work. It looks really realistic. Although I have to say the real model is quite ugly Quote
hrontos Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Very nice replica of the original. Wouldn't this one also fit into running Model Team contest? Or is it too much functional for Model Team? Quote
Kronos Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) You linked to an image? Is that correct? Do you mean you're still working on it? I'm getting the same thing.?? Awesome job!!!! Edited August 29, 2014 by Kronos Quote
Technyk32231 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Wow, very nice! The only way I've heard of these is from the Spin Tires game, and you did a great job capturing the looks of it while retaining good functionality. 15/10 Quote
BusterHaus Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Very well modelled MOC. It looks like the real thing. Quote
anton1678 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I don't see why the person who invented the real tractor would make it look like that... Wouldn't it be less stable? It's a great representation though, just like the real thing Nice use of the normal lego for the hood and the front Quote
xx1Andi Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) As I heard and it sounds quiet logical it ist a question of stability, cause of the same size of the wheels. Look at the MB trac. The "nose" is also a bit longer but not so extrem like the Dutra. The pic of the instruction was only an example. Unfortunatley it is not for free Edited August 29, 2014 by xx1Andi Quote

Actually it is probably more stable than it looks. These days tractor have huge counterweight from iron put in front to make front heavy and to prevent flipping to back when pulling large weight. This is just another way how to do it and save some iron. Moreover, good access to engine is presented as a big advantage on the wiki page. Quote
technicfan Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 This is cool. There is another tractor like this called the Ford County :https://www.google.co.nz/search?q=ford+county+tractor&newwindow=1&es_sm=93&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=sFACVM2cC4G78gWhyYKgAw&ved=0CCoQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=667 Quote
xx1Andi Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 The Ford County is cool. Never heard of it before! Quote
