I couldn't find any photos when I was searching, so I ended up taking apart one of my cables. Here are some photos. Each terminal and the old style 9V connectors are individually pressed onto the ribben cable, which means it will be just about impossible to replace the ribben cable in the plug with a different one.

Yeah simillar sytsem to the old 9V. I also took a PF plug apart once because the cable had bad contact and I cut off a centimeter and pressed it back together.

The spacing is just slightly larger than the standard flatribben cable such as what used to be used for floppy drives, HDDs, scsi, etc.

I just remmbered that it has to be like Omikron shows. The old style, because later they mad a "double density" IDE cable that had twice the wire and smaller gauge. The size pictured should handle the volts and amps with no problem. I probably have half a mile of the stuff.

The thing is the spacing is slightly different, I have 16pin breakout connectors (Similar to this) and ribben cable here which I wanted to connect to 4 PF cables, but it doesn't fit properly. So I will need to either use 4 pin connectors on each cable or solder the PF cable directly to my ribben cable.
