Tommi1 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) Hello, I am wondering what I can make from my LEGO Technic sets. I am looking for suggestions. When I was a kid and a teenager I was playing mostly with LEGO City and some other non-technic sets, however I had some technic sets, too. About 2 years ago my return to LEGO began. However now I focus on Technic sets. I have a lot of non-technic parts and parts from 1-2 medium old technic sets. Apart from that I have got following technic sets, which I was buying in recent time. I have: 8110 (Unimog): 42002 (hovercraft): 42006 (Excavator): 8293 (Power Functions): 42030 (Volvo Excavator): Can I build from these sets any interesting constructions? I thought about motorized, remote controlled excavator. I am moderately experienced LEGO builder and little experienced technic builder. What do you think, any suggestions? Zerobricks Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 You have 8 of those wheels? Make an 8 wheeled truck! Lets see you have 1 Xl, 3m, 1L and 1 servo? You could make an 8x8 truck with XL motor for drive and an M motor for selecting gears, servo for steering the front wheels, and maybe an L motor or simillar for a winch or such... Or you can make a giant crane truck? Quote
Balrog Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Sign up at Rebrickable, insert your sets to your collection there and then click on Build to see what you can build. If you don't want to sign up there, you can search by manually entering some set numbers. But as your collection grows, that will become cumbersome. Quote
Fissl Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) you have many nice parts and lots of PF. why don't you build a tracked robot with an articulated arm like this one ? :) btw. welcome to EB! Edited August 26, 2014 by Fissl Quote
Lipko Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Buy 8070 too and you can build anything! I had a much smaller inventory and I had much fun building stuff from the pieces. Quote
Theo van Vroenhoven Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I suggest this excavator http://rebrickable.com/mocs/jurgen/zorex-220-pf-excavator A great build and a nice looking and functioning excavator! With the sets you have you won't be missing a lot of parts. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I suggest this excavator http://rebrickable.c...20-pf-excavator A great build and a nice looking and functioning excavator! With the sets you have you won't be missing a lot of parts. I have built it,and can tell you that if you what to build it in orange that you will be missing a lot of parts. Quote
Theo van Vroenhoven Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 You could also build it in Yellow like I did: https://plus.google.com/photos/105613139724773367616/albums/5730247727431409329 Quote
jantjeuh Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Check out Rebrickable, like others said. Quote
Osuharding1 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 I highly recommend rebrickable. While we here in the USA had to wait until August 2014 to get any new Technic, I resorted to Rebrickable to find things to build to keep my addiction well feed. Quote
Kierna Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 With that much lego, you can build almost anything you could think of! Use your imagination Quote
Tommi1 Posted August 27, 2014 Author Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) Thank you for suggestions! I'll also check the site you recommend. When you will figure out something else, write, please:) Edited August 27, 2014 by Tommi1 Quote
Tommi1 Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 Can I build remote controlled excavator (based on 42006) with PF I have? What do you think? Quote
Balrog Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 Can I build remote controlled excavator (based on 42006) with PF I have? What do you think? Like 8043? With a few more tread links, one more M motor and some other parts probably. I didn't check properly though. Quote
Tommi1 Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 Yes, I think about something similar to 8043 or just 420006 but fully remote controlled. Quote
