I recently bought a few sets from the local classified adds, one of them was the town square (great set) which was still sealed when i got it.

while building the set i noticed a small mistake with the crane driver...

Can you spot the mistake?

Driving those cranes must be a hazardous job :look:

That's very odd considering the machine that puts the hands on the arms should only have access to the color hands for that figure and not anything else.

OMG!!!...This is indeed a serious Issue...

Either you inform this to Lego.com or ur Local shop where u bought from.

Or consider this a special edition were you can still create up a story for this poor guy who might had an accident while ago and was replaced with this hook hand..

And of course, if you have a spare then all the hassle is done...

Cheers and many thanks for sharing this.

Ohh yea, just to tell you also, I had a new selaed set which supppse to have white horse instead I got an indian horse...loooool and since the set belongs to year 2002 I had no other choice to get the correct one only to buy it...;-).

Cheers

Mmm..I have this set new sealed. I think I have to open ot and check if I have the same issue..

As the former manager of a rigging company, that minifig illustrates my worst nightmare come to life.

I've worked a lot around rigging and have seen someone "De-gloved" very nasty  I think I'd prefer a total sever instead of that

I think this little guy is cool and i have no need to replace or fix him. The Lego god's chose to make him this way so who am I to judge them. Maybe he is the special

I do have tons of "Kragle" knocking about here, but he has no need to worry, because it's really not the best stuff to use on Lego

I think i shall name him Captain Jas. Kudos points to anyone who knows Captain Jas's more commonly known name

Also he can be my new sigfig,

Kind of wierd my current one includes a crocodile :look:

I was thinking about those machines that apply the hands and how the hook got in there. Obviously the same machines are able to attach hooks to pirates so the different shape didn't bother it, it was just the next part out off the hopper. But how did the grey hook get in the grey hands hopper? Maybe some one dropped a box of hooks and they exploded everywhere and during the cleanup no one noticed the errand hook in the hands pile, maybe there was more than one in there, maybe not, maybe we'll never know.

All i know is Captain Jas has finally found his new home. He is my favorite mini fig that i own.

OHH! WAIT... Captain Jazz hand... that's his new name

Just realized the GF's name is Jasmin and I'd rather keep all of my body parts

Haha... see it as you won the lottery, because as TheLegoDr says, it's all done on a machine, so there must have been a hook stucked somewhere from another batch of minifigures.

But contact LEGO costumerservice anyway, then LEGO knows that it can happen.

If u dont mind, how much u paid for the set?

I don't mind, it's not a secret

I bought 7 sets from a classified add for €125

60026 Town Square

60012 4x4 & Diving Boat

3221 City Truck

60019 Stunt Plane

31003 Red Rotors

3366 Satellite Launch Pad

7741 Police Helicopter

Town square, diving boat and police helicopter where still sealed, the others had been assembled and repacked into ziplocs.

I mainly only wanted the city truck but the guy wouldn't split it from the others so i just bought the lot.

It felt like a good deal anyway.

It was a great build but i have already striped it for parts, all that's left is the statue and the crane because i like them so much, but some parts have been stolen from the crane. You can see in the pic above bits missing from the rear of the cab. Any stuff that i like normally ends up in one of my glass cabinets, but at the moment they are all full of the models i like to display (non Lego) so i'll have to either make another cabinet or sell off some models.

I do agree about the statue..it is amazing. my plan is to include this set into my city project....and after i am dont with the project ( in few months as i have many set to build ) then i see what to do. cos i have also to look into the space i have to contain all these. but surely will either buy more boxes or capboard to put them in or have more space :)
