Awesome model!

As for the steering, you may think that it's easier to add steering and suspension to an UCS sized model, since there is plenty of place. But with size mass comes too, and the arm of the Tumbler is quite thin.

Sariel's (excellent) Tumbler is both larger and heavier, has proper suspension, and steers perfectly

Yes, but the shape of the front suspension isn't perfect. For TLG, it seems that the looks is much more important than the functionality.

True, I guess. Also, they probably didn't want to make the model overly complex. Anyway, we're probably getting a bit off-topic here.

Just finished putting a version of this tumbler together, though not with all the correct colours. Batman most definitely does NOT work in yellow

There are some great features on the design.

The only area of minor concern I have is the rear shocks, which appear to be a little distorted to accommodate the steerer axle. As I say, this really is a minor point

Thanks for all the replies guys!

Yes Boulderer the model is not perfect, though I never noticed rear shocks bend because the 1L bush sits nicely between them. But seing the number of positive replies here I think I know this is one of my best mini models.

Thanks for support guys!

P.S. If you dont have the correct colors you can always make the camouflaged version

It is a great Mini build Zblj, and I have ordered the pieces to allow me to complete it :sweet:

If i were to try a camouflage version right now, it would only blend in around a beehive

Well, that confirms it: this is an awesome model  You don't have a black 16L axle though?

I'm not aware that TLG ever released 16L axle in black. I was looking for one yesterday.

42009 has five of them (and also two 2014 sets), so relatively new part. Lots available on BL.

And here's the RC version!

Sadly the shape is not as nice as the non motorized one due to the PF stuff, but the model is quite fast!

Even though I used 4 hard springs the model still tilts A LOT in the corners, sometimes driving on three wheels.

First of all hello and welcome to Eurobricks

There were LOTS of different parts used, so I cant tell you the sets used, but I can tell you the electrical components and specialized parts:

1 x LiPo battery box

1 x M motor

1x RC motor

1x PF extension cable

1x PF receiver (you can use any version)

1x PF switch

2x PF LEDs

1x PF remote

Specialized parts include:

1x Ball joint (male and female part)

2x Universal joints

4x Hard 6,5 springs

2x small steering hubs

1x 16 stud long axle

And lots of usual gears (including 2 worm gears), beams (black  ) panels, including 6 small ones for wings. Sorry cant be more specific as I took the model apart.
