HorcikDesigns Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Hi, while waiting for my BL order I tried to make an Trial truck chassis ;) Please check it for mistakes or some other bugs. (whether you want) TTTatra 8*8 by Horcik designs, on Flickr LDD HERE: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=545511 Quote
Rockbrick Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) ha ! I just right clicked on that with my mouse hoping to spin the model round! Thanks for sharing I've been engineering something similar in my mind though I cannot access your link to the LDD it says that the folder is not yet public Edited July 8, 2014 by Rockbrick Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 Sorry for the un-publicity of the file, hope it will be approved soon ;) It is still WIP chassis, waiting to be finished with non-digital bricks ;) (or by hand of another LDD builder :D) Quote
Black-Build Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 What kind of suspension do you use? With shocks or suspension like this one: http://www.nico71.fr/tatra-t815-8x8/ I saw some links in the back so i was curious Quote

The suspension arms are inspired by Nico71's T815 ( http://www.nico71.fr/tatra-4x4-t815/ ) And the links are there to keep the arms straight, because they are not solid when it rolls forward or backward. ;) Quote
Zerobricks Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Thoughts... The steering is fixed only by friction and axles are bound to slide away over time...Where is suspension? What motors will you use? I suggest you tuse use more than 1 MLA, forces on steering are really high when offroading. Quote

This is only digital test, where I have tested the dimensions, so the steering would be much improved in the non-digital version. Motors - as I wrote in the picture, there would be two 5292s (RC Buggy motor) powered by an external twin BB connected with car by wires (without IR). When I look back, I would also change the position get it lower of the motors gearbox (rectangle frame with 16t-s to 24tcrown gears), or substitute it with some wormgear-ed structure. Thanks for ideas. ;) Quote
Black-Build Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Just had a look at it. The main frame is OK, only if i were you, you should place those buggymotor lower in the chassis. This way you can keep it compact and sturdy. I also recommand you to not use 8 teeth gears. (including the new ones) Quote

However, I know that they aren't so reliable as eg. 12t-s Quote
