@Yules. I see this is your first post here, so first of all: Welcome to Eurobricks. :classic:

Now for a tip: I noticed you posted this in an old topic from 2011. In this case it would have been better to start a new topic, so I created this one for you.

Thank you!!! I almost thought that my post was removed because I wrote something wrong , but luckily I found it back here!! B.T.W Do you think that model would look good in real life?

I like the model, but I think it is impossible to realize it in real life because of the uncommon colours you choose for many parts. As some other user says, probably a great number of parts doesn't exist as real bricks with that colours.

As the model is interesting, you could open a topic in the sci-fi section to show your work.

If your computer allows that, you could improve graphic settings (from LDD options) to create some higher quality screenshot: the spelling with advanced shading and outlined bricks is much better.

Do you think to share the lxf file?

PS: I suggest you to edit the post you made in the LDD Manager topic to avoid crossposting.

If I share my lxf file, wouldn't that make it possible that others will try to copy it and claim it as their one??? :look: Okay to be fair it was meant as a tribut to the short lived Exo-force.

Colours aren't really an isue for me... if someone can suggest alternate colors i'm fine with that. It's the form of the model that's more important to me :sceptic:

If colours are not a problem for you, I think that there are not problems with your model: you can order parts from bricklink shops (or elsewhere, if you find any other way).

About sharing the lxf file, I think that sharing our digital creations is a good part of the fun.

If you fear someone will steal your model, the date of your post here (and in other places) is a good proof, but you can take other precautions if you want (send an email and leave it on a mail server or even send the model to the appropriate institute in your Country).

Could you specifie on the "any other way"?, because that's holding me back to make this model, and again.... is bricklink thrustworthy?

I made it into a topic on the scifi forum, you can take a look if you want: it has another mech in it

Yes, now screenshots are much better!

You can obtain even better results taking the shot at higher resolution possible and then downscaling the image.

The following step is to render the image using LDD2Powray software.

About buying bricks, bricklink is not a shop, but a sales distribution chain.

The question is not if bricklink is trustworthy, but if the single seller is. And usually they are affordable. I bought many times from bricklink without problems.

Other way to recover bricks could be: pick a brick on lego site (very few bricks available), buy bricks on ebay, contact some vendor in forum/facebook or other places where people discuss about LEGO, exchange parts with other AFOLs, wandering around flea markets, ransack neighbours' cellar...

But usually bricklink is the best place where to buy single parts.

I just ordered about 1000 parts from Lego to build a tank model. They were reasonable and all the parts are new. You order form customer service and then pick I want to order bricks and put in the brick number. It brings up the part with color selections and when you click on the color you see it gives you the actual colors. Then you enter the number you want and add to bag. Lego sends you an e-mail with the price and gives you two weeks to decide if you want them or not. If you buy them you call the number in the e-mail and purchase the parts. From what i can tell from my order and experance, they have every part that is still in production on the site. If the color you want is out of stock, you will not be able to add it to your bag but when you call them, if you don't mind waiting, you can order and pay for the part and it will be shipped when they get it in stock. I used this method because I couldn't find a vendor on BL that had all the parts I needed and in the quatities I needed so the shipping from multiple stores would be cost prohibitive. Hope this helps you.

Thank you for answering my question  but from what did you actually order... Bricklink? so I acyually can find bricks in the same colour like on the mech i showed? hopefully you can answer this :sweet:

Could you add the link where you bought the bricks?

PS: Thanks to you I finally got one step closer to build the mech I dreamt my entire life of

Yules, here is the link. Remember this is a lego direct order so parts might be a little more expensive that BL so keep that in mind. Remember also that after you submit the order, they will email u with their price and you have 2 weeks to call and order or else they cancel the order number. This worked well for my tank model and i got all the parts directly from lego except wheels which are no longer in production, I got those from BL.

Hope this helps.

Hey moderator, I have a question for you, I have seen several members being banned in old threads. What can cause such to have a member being banned? :sceptic:

PS Please don't ban me,, I really like this site

Yules, first of all - this is not right topic for that question.

But to answer - you need to look around the EB forum and you'll find for example this.

If you search for banned there, you'll find the answer in one of the topics.

Hey, do you want one of the lxf files? i was thinking again and perhaps if others could use my lxf-files (the robots) we could even get better results, I mean more variations
