Zerobricks Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) This engine took me some 2 hours to build and one more to make in LDD. Its a very simple engine, but its fun to watch with all the clyinders working together and valves moving... For tzhe frame I used the 5x11 bent beams in order to make an octagon. The rear side has the valves and a jungle of tubing: The LDD version has some minor bugs, some pins arent in their place, because in real life you the beams can flex a bit in place: The valves, T joints and clyinders are color coded. unimog123 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) That's really cool! Don't you think it could be easier to have a few pneumatic pumps hooked up to a RC buggy motor or something like that? Edited March 22, 2014 by unimog123 Quote
KirTech LAB Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 Cool engine!!! How do you think is it difficult to construct 9-cylinder engine like in SU-29 aircraft? Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 A 9 clyinder engine would be proboably more tricky due to timiming...but should be possible...Oh and you'd also need a different centerpoint... Quote
KirTech LAB Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Yes, the centerpoint is not the same. I've seen animated working of 9-cylinder engine and it is charming process! Quote
