Marcel1980 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I need some help... I have a very narrow tatra axle. But now i need to think about the steering. I just cant get it right and i need some new input. The axle is only 12 studs width. So working with the 6l links wont be possible it think. (At least not that i know of right now... Any suggestions? Picture of the axle (I will upload more pictures.) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6056822 Quote

Marcel1980 Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 Had trouble with suspension too... I didnt fit. The steering is not solved yet... Im trying to use the servo motor but i think need to abandon it. Quote
jorgeopesi Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Tatra steering is a nightmare... suspension is easy in comparison. Quote
Rockbrick Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Exactly perfect - don't reinvent the wheel - do it the way Tatra do it as in this video ... Try this: accurate rc model version: Quote
jorgeopesi Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I see this pic many times. The real Tatras haven´t got a perfect steering, the steering angle changes with the suspension because the drive axle is right in the middle. I found my solution and the geometry is perfect but you have to move up or down the drive axle. Quote
Marcel1980 Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 I saw on your tatras that the front axles are one stud above the drive axle? Am i correct? Suspension in done. Just need to start working on the frame. Any tips on that? Quote
jorgeopesi Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 I saw on your tatras that the front axles are one stud above the drive axle? Am i correct? The important thing is that the track rod has to be in line with the suspension point, for me is the only way for a perfect steering. You can try pushing any of my axles, in none of them the steering is affected by travel suspension. Front axles are not a problem because the drive axle doesn´t mind, when you have got more than one steering axle the party starts . I build my MOCs to work best but if you want to do a trial truck it may be better to lose that precision and gain strength and simplicity of construction. Quote
Marcel1980 Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 Im trying to achieve that... Maybe i should rethink the steering. Well first gonna do frame and let it rest for a moment. Quote
