eurotrash Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Incredible design and detailing. I love real-world MOCs. It makes me want to try harder to get out of 'Lego World' and build more realistic projects. I try and build what I see here in the mid-west. The architecture is fairly straightforward two-story and there's a somewhat restrictive colour palette used. Here's what we've got around here: Car Repair Shop http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84426 Soup Kitchen/Flop House http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=85890 Tractor Supply Company http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=88656 Thanks for all the comments! timmyc1983 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 This is a great MOC, I love the abandoned look. It really suits the rest of your degenerating city!! I love the mysterious leak out the tank, great details!! I look forward to the next, happy building Quote
3BrickFriends Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Hi Eurotrash. Just been checking out your other buildings. Love the style. Quote
Maniac4Legos Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 This is an excellent MOC! I can see you really too some time (and maybe outside inspiration?) to create this factory model. As I scanned each picture, the model become realistic to me. All the small areas of detail brought the model to life even though it is abandoned. Instead of being plain, this model has character and depicts the ages and tear of its outside walls and railroad tracks. What I thought was create was how you used 2 black triangular plates inside on of the rooms. (Look closely by the image with a rat, you'll see slanted line between to plates). It's a creative technique when you're low on large plates, but it also made me wonder about the floor being cracked in a direction other than the tiles that may have once been installed there :D it's a thought outside the box! The rustic yet modern look of this model is well done. Great job, fellow Eurobricks user! Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Great job eurotrash, do you ever plan on making instructions for this? It looks wonderful, definitely something I'd want in my city. Quote
Klikstyle Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Really cool build. It definitely feels like so many abandoned factories around the US. Great choice shooting it outside. It adds a lot to the presentation. Quote
Wodanis Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Really like the little details in this MOC. The railing connecting the silo is a cool idea! Great work Eurotrash! Quote
Ambo100 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 The composition of bricks used for the decayed railway are probably my favourite detail, I'd like to build something similar for my LEGO city. Quote
Lazarus Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Would u have a LXF file for this, this would fit perfect for a place on my train layout. Quote

Would u have a LXF file for this, this would fit perfect for a place on my train layout. Thanks to everyone for all the kind words! But unfortunately there are no plans - it was literally a quick and dirty build. The two-piece roof (using a couple of 1990's Station Platform pieces) determined the overall size, the shape of the entrance area was defined again by the roof pieces I used, I made the height of the main building sufficient to get the Blue Girder pieces from the Chemical Silo touching the wall below the roofline. I built it then grunged it down, then distressed it further... Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Very nice..reminds me of a movie but cant remember the name..:-) Quote
Yzalirk Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 It could use more detail, such as vegetation growing on the building, making it look destroyed, and a darker and even more industrial color pallet such as dark gray, dark brown, and black. Other than that, not bad. Quote
