gti180 Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) First time I've posted a topic.. Could do with some help on this, I would like to add two trailers to this truck but haven't been able to find much online in the way photos to inspire me. The truck still needs a bit more tidying up but should be finished soon. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/gti180/oldtruck/photo_15-03-2014_16_32_29.jpg Edited March 17, 2014 by Jim Image is way too big Quote
Lakop Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 hi, It looks like a recovery truck so you might want to add a flatbed trailer to it with a nice ramp. Your truck is very good by the way. H Quote
Milan Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Nice smooth surface, so smooth it need some detailing. You dont have some other tires? Quote
gti180 Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 Thanks for the comments. a flatbed would work but I've wanted it to tow more than one trailer. - Maybe if I build a twin axle flatbed it might be a bit more interesting to build. Milan, which wheels did you have in mind? I have a few different types but non that have a 50s look to them Quote
Milan Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I meant some thinner tires. At this scale, maybe model team tires would fit the best. Quote
Jim Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 First time I've posted a topic.. Hi, You picture is way too big, so I changed it to a link. Please make sure the embedded picture doesn't exceed to the maximum width of 1024 pixels (800 pixels is commonly used when embedding pictures). Quote
gti180 Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) Manged to get a bit of work done on the weekend. the trailer axles need reducing a bit because the arches are too big and look odd. Also, need to reduce the amount of steer on the last axle. http://theplasticbrick.blogspot.co.uk/2014/11/lego-old-truck-mk2.html Milan, I'm still unsure which wheels you mean do you know the code? Kelkschiz Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Nice MOC, but the pictures are way too big for my old screen. Quote
Richter Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Really nice truck! I like the way you used the battery box as the base in the crane area. Did you follow some real truck or is it in a sense just a random model? For me it kind of looks like a Soviet Gaz 66 truck :D But anyways well done! Ps. I love the trailer aswell! very nifty! Quote
gti180 Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) Thanks Guys! it is a random model, its an updated version of one I made a few years ago.. re sized pictures.. Image too big Image too big Image too big Edited November 12, 2014 by Jim Images too big Quote
kisper Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Awesome :) just curious how do U start building something out of nothing ? I want to build a simple crawler crane but don't know where to begin from ??? Quote
Jim Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Hi GTI, Can you make sure to embed images no bigger than 1024 pixels (800px is a commonly used width)? So upload your pictures 800x600 to Brickshelf or use Flickr, where you can upload in HiRes and link a smaller version. Thanks! Quote
gti180 Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 Awesome :) just curious how do U start building something out of nothing ? I want to build a simple crawler crane but don't know where to begin from ??? .. not sure to be honest I just sit at home and push blocks together! I normally start with a chassis which is always studless then go from there, the only brief I gave myself was that I wanted to improve on the last version.sorry about the photos Jim.. it wont happen again.
