Zerobricks Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Yo guys! Here's my new MOC, a racing truck... It uses 2 RC motors coupled with a 2 speed manual transmission. The total gear ratio are 1:2,333 for high gear and 1:7 for low gear (from the fast RC motor outputs). I may change the ratios when I have full batteries. It has iindependent suspension in the front and a live axle in the back. Here's a quick picture, more to come later inculding a video: Quote
cgg199 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I've always loved truck racing! Nice build, I like how it is lowered like a Formula 1 Racing Truck. Quote
unimog123 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Great job! By the way was this inspired by my MAN TGA Racing Truck WIP topic, because it almost looks like a MAN truck. Anyway I can't wait for the video! Also now it has boosted me to work on my racing truck again. Maybe if I finish mine soon, we could see whose is fastest(in a video at least), since your truck as RC components and mine will have PF components. Edited March 2, 2014 by unimog123 Quote
MrTekneex Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Perfect! I like the scheme color of the seats! :) Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 2, 2014 Author Posted March 2, 2014 I just tried new batteries and the poor rear wheels are just slipping with power Seeing 4 unimog wheels slip is quite amazing. Quote
Doc_Brown Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Sweet man, looking forward to seeing the video! any other pics of how you geared stuff? I struggle to get 2 RC motors to work well. Quote
piterx Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 unimog wheels slipping? ahah so cool i look forward to the video :) Quote

Pat-Ard Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Really cool... Lego should really come up with some new R/C stuff... Quote
Rishab N Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Nice work! It's pretty fast for something of that size Quote
MrNumbskull13 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Awesome truck! Needs some custom stickers! ;) Quote
Milan Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I am surprised that small center bevel gear in the diff does not brake when the torque is applied. I see you used slight gearing after the differential, but still, torque from two RC motors and 4 grippy Unimog tires should brake it. Well done! Quote
AndyCW Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 I have got to get myself the RC controller and box. Using 5292 motors with IR is getting tiring. It takes a lot of running to keep up. v/r Andy Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Best Zblj, I like your race truck a lot and got planty off power. When you lock the diff it will be drift a lot better Quote
KirTech LAB Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Exellent work as always! White color is so good!!! Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Whats wrong with white :) As of recent it was quite a rare color in technic. Quote
