MajklSpajkl Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 Hey man, relax, you're getting way too serious here. I don't know why is it necessary to describe why do you like or don't like something. Do you go digging for every emotion and feeling about the things in life? I guess not. Well I don't really know you, but I think most people look at a thing - MOC in our cas,e and in a blink of an eye, without thinking, decide whether is it good or not. No one is obligated to explain their feelings about anything, not even about your MOC. If it would be that good, that it would suit in the HOF, then this would pop out on itself... Modesty is a nice virtue... Quote
Blakbird Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 The Eurobricks Technic forum has a group of members with a lot of Technic experience, and who have seen a lot of excellent MOCs. Impressing them is not an easy task. In general, you'll probably find that it is not possible to create "buzz" about a MOC intentionally. Once you've posted your model, you'll find that buzz happens all by itself if the model is worthy of it (and most aren't). Eurobricks is not social media so there are no "likes" or subscribers or other indications of promotional success. A MOC presented here is typically presented for the purpose of sharing with like minded individuals. If you'd also like feedback on your model, you can ask for it but you'll find that people tend to be polite about criticisms so you may not get totally unbiased feedback. Quote
Lipko Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 (edited) It isn't my priority, (assumptions don't get you anywhere either). You guys keep telling me there's something wrong with it, yet you don't have the audacity to confess what it is. 'It isn't quite there yet', that statement isn't of any significant importance to me if you can't even define why it isn't there. aol000xw, in this case, you have demonstrated how hypocritical you can really be. You can't even utter a sound about 'lacking' if your to ignorant to even build, watch or even have a glimpse of the MOC in question, yet because you see other people ramming on, that somewhat gives you the impudence to blabber about something you don't even comprehend. Your whole comment is literally a spam; its an uneccesary comment if you haven't bothered to research or even visualise what we are talking about. BTW, hypocritical comments aren't welcome either. People are too nice here, especially with forum members, to tell give you true feedback. Here's some: -the shape of the wind-shield is totally off, how can't you see that? -the overall shape is quite off (the model simply isn't recognisable) -the shapes of the body are messy, edges are jagged, stacked beams rarely look good, especially if they could easily be replaced with panels. Don't tell me you don't have panels. The good designers spend time and money on parts that they need. -it seems that the doors can positioned in any pose, which is not realistic -the interior is very very messy and unrealistic (DAT steering wheel!!!11 DAT seat!!1). 2 pages of explanation in the video won't change that. Good designers know how to balance looks/authenticity/functions -otherwise the functions are pretty good. But you must not abandon the looks, or otherwise it will only be some proof-of concept-like model. And yours doesn't have any new/interesting concepts. I feel myself a prick now. Lipko Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 By the way, if we are at self requests, I'm a little dissapointed that my contest-winning windup-insects didn't make it to the HoF, even though it was explicitly stated a few times that contest winners will be posted in the HoF. Those insects got forgotten so quickly, I don't get it how so unremarkable models could win a contest. Feeling even pricker. Quote
D3K Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I concur with Lipko. Take a look at some of these other Hall of Fame cars based off of real life cars: Ferrari 458 Spider by Brunojj Ford GT40 by Sariel Audi RS5 by Lipko And you have too see that your model is not quite there yet. Don't feel bad about it, it's just the way it is.. Keep working, try improving the design, maybe make a 2nd attempt, trying to improve the things Lipko pointed out (which I agree on), and come back with a revised model. Making a MOC with a universal WOW factor is not an easy achievement! Quote
LeocornoProductions Posted November 25, 2014 Posted November 25, 2014 I am planning a more improved model with instructions, (if your have the slightest interest in revisiting my moc). And I was working on all the failed criterias that lipko highlighted. If it turns out the way I want, I think you and lipko 'MIGHT' be impressed from how much of an improvement it is. Quote

Rishab N Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 (edited) If you want more attention for your MOC could you please make the video available in the US? I can't even see what all this is about. Even though I haven't seen the model I agree with everyone else- don't build to impress or gain publicity-just build for your own enjoyment. Keep trying to improve and don't give up.I look forward to seeing the revised model Edited November 26, 2014 by Rishab N Quote
Jim Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 would this be good enough?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2Zh_J4vwsQ The video doesn't work for me either. Can you make a separate topic with pictures and info? Quote

Hi Leocorn, Don't make accusational posts like this. Especially you being a new member. Get your act together and respond in a mature fashion. Feel free to send me a PM if want to express yourself any further. Otherwise; the discussion ends here. Like I said; create a topic with extra information, some pictures and a working video. We will discuss the quality of your MOC in that topic. Edit: No pointless discussions in this topic about why one MOC is and another MOC isn't in the HoF. Quote
D3K Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 No discussions in this HoF topic! Mostly I agree with what you said, but this topic is named "Technic Hall of Fame Discussion" Quote
Jim Posted November 26, 2014 Author Posted November 26, 2014 Mostly I agree with what you said, but this topic is named "Technic Hall of Fame Discussion" Hehe you are absolutely right I obviously meant no discussion about why one MOC is in the HoF and another isn't. Quote
jantjeuh Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 (edited) Well people, all in all it's not so complicated. A MOC belongs in the H.O.F. if and only if Blakbird has built it. Simple rule, eh? Edited November 26, 2014 by jantjeuh Quote

Then I'm more and more impressed about Blakbird ability to build MOCs where there are no BI , ok I know he lives out of time, so he might also travel in time to get the BI before we even know that someone will make the BI of that MOC. LeocornoProductions Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 you say that, but most of them have no available instructions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8fgyTB-zHg&list=UUVn1ibKhkgHiaCdR_M9EUpA this is another video I made about modding its supension, you should able to view it in every country, well except for korea because they are banned from using the internet The MKII version is only designed and thought out and purposed for members of the public to build, play and enjoy using one of my mocs, its only being redesinged and re-made because the MKI version wasn't reliable enough for other people to use or build. Epic Technic Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I was wondering if my building style is a good style to get a MOC in the HOF and what I must change. (not change the MOC but the building style) Example of my best creation: and yes I know its a bit 'cuby' but its rather similar to the really car. Thanks, please answer me. Quote
cgg199 Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I think the biggest problem isn't what makes a model eligible for the Hall of Fame, but the fact that people want to know why their models aren't in it. Yes the HoF is something that we should all aspire to, but it is not the be all and end all of MOCing. If you want a model to get into the HoF you need to build a MOC to the standard of those already in it, not try to bargain with the community justifying it's place. If a MOC is Hall of Fame worthy, no doubt it will end up in there. Quote
LeocornoProductions Posted November 26, 2014 Posted November 26, 2014 I attempted to, but I am re attempting it as we speak, the audi quattro is slightly cuby in real life, but I suggest you make the hood a bit longer, raise the ride height and give ir those long shock absorbers found in the 4x4 crawler and the unimog u400, and put mudflaps on it and that would be a great interpretation of an audi quattro. MajklSpajkl Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 (edited) Some nice new hall-of-famers added, but shouldn't the Wheeled excavator by TGBDZ also be added as a TC5 victor? And the MINI conest winner also? Regards, miha Edited January 8, 2015 by MajklSpajkl Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 The Mini contest winner will go up tomorrow, and perhaps the others you suggested. Quote
Omikron Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 We have so many cars in the hall of fame, we need some other MOCs like helicopters, boats, hovercrafts, walkers, tanks, planes, robots and so on. Quote
