CorneliusMurdock Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 You had talent even back then! It's great how much it matches official Lego vehicle design styles of the time period. Quote
Faefrost Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I'm not sure what the agreement with Lucasfilm would have been about the molds of a character or whether that sort of thing could be considered off-limits for reuse. It would be perfect with a new print and maybe in trans green. I think the dividing line as to whether or not a mold can be reused elsewhere is if it is unique and character defining. Hair alone almost never is unless it has very character specific details in it. So Jack Sparrows hair is unique to Jack Sparrow, with all the braids and coins etc. whereas Qui Gons hair, while distinctively shaped, is just a hairstyle and may be re used. Things like Darth Vaders helm or Stormtrooper helms are unique character pieces, so may not be used. Simple hats such as Kepi's not so much. A lot of it will be do the unique character identifiers come from the molding or shape? Or do they come from the color or markings? No matter how you slice it the Rotta the Hutt fig is the entirety of a unique and identifiable (granted obscure) Star Wars character, so no they probably will not be able to use him elsewhere. Quote
TheBatstan Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Nice mini Ecto 1! With some modern mods it could be a polybag. Quote
WetWired Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Now you've got me wanting to make a tiny little poly bag version :) I forgot to mention I actually built that old ecto with my old childhood lego parts, I generally don't mix them with my new stuff as they're quite well used (I could slap my 10 year old self for using his teeth to pull apart bricks) Quote
The Jersey Brick Guy Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Did they give any indication to you when this will be released this year? Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I guess nobody expected it this early, but the Ghostbusters set has been revealed at the NYTF: Love the minifigs Quote
just2good Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Thanks Lego-Freak! It does look great! Quote

WetWired Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Bigger photo stolen from the cuusoo facebook page New York Toy Fair Reveal by Brent Waller, on Flickr Quote
just2good Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Thanks for the pics and well, the set! The figures are fantastic! And, I like the build much better than I did when we first saw it on Cuusoo. $50 is pretty steep, but I'm willing to pay it. Quote
thewolverine Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Lego Ghostbusters close up pictures from Toy Ark http://news.toyark.com/2014/02/16/toy-fair-2014-lego-simpsons-ghostbusters-114890 Quote
Kez Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Wow, this looks fantastic, I'm so glad Lego decided to include the full team however its a shame that there is no ghost but if those pieces are printed which I'm very sure they are this is definitely a day one purchase, thanks for the images. CM4Sci Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Wh wha WHAT?! This was just announced what, last week? This is so cool, I am definitely getting this! -Sci Quote
snaillad Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Car and figs look brilliant. I'm guessing the license plate will be printed like BTTF. What about those 2x2 curves along the side, wonder if they will be printed also. I really hope so for that price. Roll on June! Quote
TheBrickHitHouse Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Just gorgeous - was worried the Toy Fair version was the final one! I'd have liked the doors to open but I'm really splitting hairs - this is a set I'll probably get a couple of. Shame no leg printing...oh well. Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 This is by far the best Lego Cuusoo set! I really can't wait to pick this up. Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Oh my....!!!! This looks absolutely incredible, and is definitely a Day 1 purchase for me! Huge shame that there is no Slimer included, though. Quote
eiker86 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) I uploaded some detail shots of the Ecto-1 and the crew, even with the Designer ;) There is room for all four minifigs in the car and logo is printed. Same with the boat tile on theire backpack. The pics are on my flickr. The model is now gone ;) The bigger model seen on some pics are made by Stephan Sanders from Germany. There is Chrome silver in at least four parts and three of them are first time in that color. There is also the wheight brick from the collectables inside the tires. (Hope you understand what brick I meen) Edited February 16, 2014 by eiker86 Quote
Paul Boratko Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) I like your car better than the one that they redesigned... And I also like the way you did your Peter Venkman figure much better... The Vampire hair doesn't look right IMO... This is still a no brainer that we'll have this set on display in our home on day one... Congratulations..!!! Edited February 16, 2014 by Paul Boratko Quote
just2good Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 You could see some extremely highres 2400x1800 pictures of the Ghostbusters set by clicking on each image below! Quote
