jantjeuh Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 This would be a C-model only set - i.e. whatever you come up with will be better than the A+B ones Well, then I'm curious to see what you will come up with ;-) I agree that the rear axle should have been a live one, but hey, now we got 4 more of those rare and expensive wishbone arms. Those rare and expensive wishbone arms are just 7L lift arms... Quote

Sariel Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I just motorized my 42029 with 2 PF L motors, a Servo and a proper V8 engine. The problem is, the L motors are working really hard to move it, even with RWD and the default small wheels. Recharging the batteries now, I wonder if it will help. I'd rather not start modding the whole drivetrain. Quote
Zimix Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Ok part list for Pick up truck so far in Brickstock format bsx Here part list as on BI, no extra parts listed Quote
SilenWin Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) Good day, everybody! Here is black&white version of 42029 with some tiny modifications. The main problem was the lack of new pins and old suspension arms, so this is not original 42029 in new color. Hope you like it! Edited July 8, 2014 by SilenWin Quote
SilenWin Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Those wheel covers are ugly... My custom rims looks even worse than these covers =) Quote
Zimix Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) I usually don't apply any stickers on my models, but on this white Truck, I would do an exeption. It lacks something without. Custom made stickers. Wheel Covers .. is a place for improvement i would say Edited July 8, 2014 by Zimix Quote
Sariel Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 So, I put two PF L motors in it, a single Servo, a proper V8 and swapped wheels for larger ones. It works fine, but it seriously lacks the torque. And because of how the drivetrain is made, I'm having a hard time finding space to increase gear reduction without a major redesign. Quote
beartrapper Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I actually like the wheel covers. It gives it a moon buggy feel. Quote
theultimatetoa001 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I actually like the wheel covers. It gives it a moon buggy feel. Is that because they used a smaller version of those covers on the wheels of the Vermin Vaporizer Set? Quote

theultimatetoa001 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I`m pretty sure that if I could,I would put the LED`s into the front lights rather than the roof lights. Quote
Sariel Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Ditch the rear diff and put a 12:36 tooth gear combo 36t gear won't fit in there. Quote
PhyBuilder Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 (edited) For those interested: the same Austrian shop shop offering the 42030 for € 169,- (pre-order), is also selling the pickup 42029 for only € 67,99! The dozer (42028) is beeing sold for € 29,99. Regardless if they ship to your country or not: it reveals the future marketprice we can expect from the common low-price-shops! izorn Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 (edited) I wish they ship to Poland Why there's no Poland?!!? Edited July 10, 2014 by izorn Quote

theultimatetoa001 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 For some reason, this set reminds me of the 8297 from 2008. Quote
Richard Dower Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I am personally more looking forward to this model then the new 8265....yeah, its just a bigger RC version of the awesome 8265. This red pick up looks cool and the part count to price ratio is very decent! Also there will be a fresh supply of red panels if you intend to try and rebuld 8258 from scratch, no way am i paying €300-400 for that model, be cheaper to buy all the parts....and these fresh supply of red panels will be perfect for that. Considering the limited PF functions i dont think i will pay another €35 to motorise it, its a lovely looking model and great parts set. Quote
tibivi Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Last week i was in Stornoway at lewis and it was already for sale there :p Quote
Zmei_gorini4 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Hi all, I really like 42029. So I decided to put together another, but without the use of some new parts from Lego. Also, I installed at once two XL motor in it. later i'll try to build a 4x4 mod. Quote
