Suspsy Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Earlier this month, I finally crossed off an item on my bucket list by climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Africa. Kili, for those who aren't aware, is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world at 5895 m or 19,340 feet. Many people who climb Kili choose to bring along items of significance to them. In my case, I brought along my favourite Lego figure, the Hulk. Here he is guarding my rucksack just before we set out from the hotel. Here's a couple shots of me on the summit. And here's the Hulk, standing tall and triumphant on the crop of rocks just behind the Uhuru sign. I would have taken a photo of him standing on the sign itself, but it was insanely crowded on the summit that day. So I reckon this is the highest a Lego figure has ever been. Am I correct? Quote
Repeter Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Until proof says otherwise, I think you might have set a new LEGO record here. Congrats on the climb! Quote
TheBatstan Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Nice climb! I probably would never think to do it though :) As for the highest ever height for a minifig, would space count? Because I think a minifig has been shot into space before. Not sure though Quote
CardinalBricks Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 There should be a LEGO world record book, and this would be in it! Great climb, too. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 And here I was expecting to see a MOC of a huge mountain and Hulk climbing up top to do something..silly me. Nice job making that climb. I don't know if I could handle it. Quote
jimmynick Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Congratulations on the climb; I'm sure it was fun but exhausting! The Hulk doesn't look too happy to stand on a rock, though. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Congratulations on climbing Kilimanjaro! The Hulk looks like he had lots of fun too. Quote
Only Sinner Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Congrats on the climb. I'm sure the Hulk could have just bounded up there on his own, but he let you do all the work , it seems. Nice. Quote
Bricktimus Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Congratulations on the climb! Glad you took a little Lego buddy with you too! haha! Quote
Rinzler Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Nice work, but i think the highest a Lego fig has ever been though is in space. I enjoy when people do something in their lives like this, makes me wnt to do something.......... NAH! Quote
Suspsy Posted January 30, 2014 Author Posted January 30, 2014 (edited) Thank you, everyone. I can honestly say that the climb was the most physically demanding thing I've ever done in my entire life. And yes, I know a minifigure's been in space, but I think Hulk may hold the record for the highest landbound Lego. Edited January 30, 2014 by Suspsy Quote

iamwhoiam Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 There should be a LEGO world record book, and this would be in it! Great climb, too. I'd buy a Lego World Record Book! Good job on the climb. Wow! Quote
commodore_legolas Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Haha, awesome! I've climbed a few mountains bringing minifigs, but nothing quite that high! Quote
