kevkipo Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 You can always use this figure for a blue coated Bard if they do not make one... No not at all, doesn't do the job for me And by this picture i agree it's Girion's sword, if we would get THAT in a set! that would be awesome. But i highly doubt it Quote
Floundie Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Interesting, haven't watched AUJ EE yet. This is Girion in the game: I know we'll never get that in a set but he looks cool. (Even though his legs and head are recolored from the Lake-Town guard.) Quote

(Even though his legs and head are recolored from the Lake-Town guard.) he looks cool yes, but i think you can recreate him, with Thorin's hair (cause i think his hair looks more black like) and the lake town guard face, and the torso and pants you can just find yourself the most look a like you can watch all the AUJ EE online. The problem with the lake town guard face is it has very light beard printing. But I think you are right about the black hair. And I'm going to buy the AUJ and DOS extended editions together later this year. Quote
Infernum Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I think Bofur's head could be a good fit for Girion (with Thorin's hair). The beard is closer to the one in the video game. Quote

Floundie Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 In case you guys are interested (and I'm sure you will be) The Hobbit: There and Back Again has been officially retitled The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Thanks to Cammo in the hobbit movies thread for the heads up. Read PJ's official announcment over there. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Good choice I think, it's at least superior to the rumored "Into the Fire" title However I'm wondering whether TLG have enough time to accommodate the boxart now They couldn't update the TMNT movie logo in time, so I'm not sure if they'll manage to do it here Quote

Thanks to Cammo in the hobbit movies thread for the heads up. Read PJ's official announcment over there. That makes me concerned whether they will show Bilbo making it back to the Shire or not. I was hoping they'd at least show him coming home and ticking off the Sackville-Baggins when he claims Bag End again. It would make a funny scene. Quote

kevkipo Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I really dont mind the name, still it will be a great movie. lets say the demolishing of Lake-Town is like 1 hour i think? al in all? then we get to see the dwarves inside Erebor and how Kili, Fili, Bofur, and Oin come there and how they are planning on living their lives, then we'll see the saving of Gandalf at dol guldur. then the Lake-Towners trying to get some money from Thorin and then the "hating" starts. i think they are going to make all in all the battle like 1,5 hour long? and maybe Bilbo going back home. I think that makes a good movie Quote
Blakstone Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I like the new movie title. Too bad it is likely too late for LEGO to throw in another Battle of the Five armies set to better address the focus of the marketing. Quote

The possible release is still 6-8 months away. I like the new movie title. But I don't think they want to. There is some slim chanse there could be another store exlusive set tho.. right? But the focus might alredy be bo5a. it seems we might get: laketown set with Armored Bard. (blue coat with chainmail) Erebor set with armored dwarves, and mithril Bilbo So that would be focusing their non bo5a sets towards the coming battle aswell. Edited April 24, 2014 by deskp Quote

Fives Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I'm worried that four sets won't be enough to cover the BO5A. Now that the title itself is the name of the battle, I feel like the battle will run for at least 40 minutes to and hour ( I bloody hope so). I fear that with only one set actually based on the battle itself (sure, we have Erebor, but that sounds like a DOS set, plus Laketown, which has very little to do with the battle, and then the small Dol Guldur set), LEGO will fail at capturing the sheer size and epicness that PJ is going for with this battle. I'm still hopeful that Smaug comes in the Laketown set, and the Erebor set is indeed based around the battle. It would make so much more sense, and judging from the video game, Smaug only needs to be slightly bigger than the current fantasy dragon to be reasonably proportioned to the figs. Quote

Fives Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 That was my original belief, but now I find it hard to believe they'd include the big guy in a $30 set. Wait, what are the prices again? If the prices remain similar to the DOS wave ($24.99, $34.99, $59.99, and $84.99 here in Canada), then shouldn't the Laketown set fit in the $60 slot, like last years' Laketown set. If the new Laketwon set has a similar amount of figs with a similar two building design, then just swap the boat out for Smaug and there you go. That leaves the $35 slot (last years' Mirkwood set) as an army builder based around the BO5A. Then we've got the small Dol Guldur set and the big Erebor set. That makes the most sense. Quote

Nah. its a 35CAD set. Also prices and pieces in erebor set states pretty clearly it got smaug. If you think a boat and smaug is worth the same ur insane x] smaug is larger, and all new. multiple molds. Edited April 24, 2014 by deskp Quote

Yeah, it makes sense but for some reason they chose not to do the sensible thing. As deskp said, as far as we know Lake town is a $35 set. Prices: Dol Guldur $16 Lake Town $35 BOFA $85 Erebor $120 Quote
Fives Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Well, LEGO has obviously made some strange choices. I'm glad to hear that Erebor will be $120, but I hope the price isn't just because of Smaug. Also, an $85 BO5A set sounds good, but makes it impossible to army build unless you Bricklink (which I don't do). Quote
deskp Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 5- dol guldur 6- lake towwn 7- bo5a 8- erebor Quote

Well since it's an expensive set i'd imagine each fig (say Iron hill dwarf) would be considerably pricey anyway. Someone said that Erebor looked 'pretty big' in one of their toy fair reports so I hope it's a decent size. Btw I suggest you check out all the compiled information at the beginning of the thread in case you haven't already. Quote
Themadpatter Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 5- dol guldur 6- lake towwn 7- bo5a 8- erebor 7+8 have awful PtP ratios buut that probably means lots and lots of minifigures! ;) Quote
