Auner of course! Actually since I don't exactly want that place torn by the ravages of war perhaps we should pick something else. Technically we still have Xerxia, it's just that the First Centurion is banished. Don't see why the capital has to follow that guy around though (in fact this is a good time for a coup :look: ), so it could stick at Xerxia for me!

It seems to me that the logical thing to do is to strike a treaty between Ulandus and the HC, since I don't really feel like being the third party to an elephant's war all by me lonesome.

(BTW, Barqa was the HC capital all through the war; Petraea was neutral most of the time.)

I thought Xerxia was occupied.... With the First Centurion gone, I don't see any obstacles to Ulandus and HC uniting. In fact I'm pretty sure the First Centurion was the reason why HC and Ulandus didn't merge during the war. So the Desert King did HC and Ulandus both a favor by getting rid of the First Centurion! Lord Kral still misses him though....

It might be occupied. I can't remember. I didn't pay much attention to that. "Don't tell me what we're fighting about, just tell me where."

I made time today to work on Quest for the Egg Part 4. I have it about 60% done. It's 32x48 with some overhang. The story may take me some time to craft, but it shouldn't be as verbose as some of my other ones.

Heralds of the Desert King has been to every town save those of Esterbroke and Gorr, where the DK's influence waned significantly after the unofficial armistice caused by the supposed death of First Centurion and the taking of Petraea. The message is clear.

"Loyal soldiers of the Pharaoh must return to Sultan's Gate and prepare for the next revealing of prophecy for the Great War. All Noble subjects of Kaliphlin who fought against the One True King shall be forgiven for their transgressions if they send a troop of warriors in time for the prophecy's revealing on December 1st. Those who do not send their good will, will be made to heel in good time."

It is suspected that the alliance between the Desert King and the united rebel forces of Nocturnus will come to fruition, as he sets his troops against the Spire in the months to come.

The present state of Kaliphlin is in flux. It takes money, men, and will to wage a war; all of which have been spent over the last year. As fall turns to winter, the last of the very few farmers return to their much destroyed fields to bring in a possible harvest, and to avoid starvation throughout the Guild. Soldiers that have survived take temporary leave, as few armies are still standing during the lull. Mercenaries have moved on, many traveling east in hopes to find new sources of coin. The only occupied cities are those of Ulandus, where the DK's main regiments still hold his hated enemy's high seat. Matters of administration are shaky as best, as the West turns to a new Council, the East has mostly pledged to the Desert King, and Gorr keeps hope that First Centurion will return to liberate his lands. On Esterbroke, Petera MacLean has completed a cleansing of Desert King influence by killing all the traitors of the island and firmly asserting Council control of the island. Refugees of the middle-lands of the guild board GEAR ships and sail to the island, thus making it impossible for the Desert King to see the island to his Avalonian allies. One thing is clear, Kaliphlin has changed, I clear leader has not emerged, and the Desert King's grip on the guild is tenuous at best. Can he become beloved? Will the First Centurion return? Will a High Council Member elevate to sovereign to reunite and rebuild the guild?

As for the winners of the challenge... I have just been so swamped. I am not sure when we will be able to announce them. For now, it seems as if the DK is in control of most of the guild, with heavy resistance still following. DK troops infiltrated much of Kaliphlin, and the majority of it is technically under his control. The will to fight has been taken from the people, and therefore, DK for all intents and purposes has seemed to be the victor.

Looking forward to seeing that build, Gedren!

Great (temporary) wrap up, Ska - that is pretty much how I have been imagining it too.

Sounds cool Ska. Hope you get less swamped! I for one would quite like to see a return to a council- it really set Kaliphlin apart from the other guilds.

The High Council still has supporters outside Kaliphlin too, so as long as there is a resistance, the Trifork will support it! Vive la republique!

Shadowmere simply supports the best interests of Historica. In these days, a firm hand in control of the Guilds is needed to return the lands to an even keel.

Ska: What is the current situation in Eastgate with the McLeans? Say Beorthan wanted to send emissaries to his allies of the High Council from the civil war, who would he contact from Eastgate/G.E.A.R.? In your prologue builds, I seem to remember some sort of reconciliation between the two. :classic:

They are currently reconciled, as Petera has moved to Gearsport on Esterbroke and taken up lordship of that city, while Dugal is back in charge at Eastgate. Both are supporters of the Council in Exile, and Barqa still stands as the temporary capital for that faction, although the DK owns pretty much everything that is not in the Southern Witherwoods, Esterbroke, or on the coast. (minus Gorr which is still loyal to Ulandus)

Is the Lone Mountain available to become a settlement? I am looking to build a Dwarf settlement within the mountain and mainly just make builds dedicated to it for my stories. Please, let me know it that spot is available.

I think the lone mountain might be sort of destroyed as of its eruption and the subsequent battles there during the civil war, but I'm sure you could find a way to show the dwarves moving in after the destruction and settling there/ rebuilding the damaged area

I like that, thanks for the idea LD.

Also, does anyone know why the Kaliphlin pages on the GoH wiki are gone? They apparently were edited last by someone who goes by the name "Darth Sheev."

I just noticed that. Strange.

I can't remember who controls the Wiki I think it is either Mike S. or NM... I think if they control it they could restore it. Not sure why someone would delete it all...

Hey, weird question for you all. I am doing a project for one of my library classes that needs digital images (i only need ten) And I thought it would be fun to put together a collection of Kaliphlin build pictures. In the end they go into a digital archive database. I just wanted to see if I could obtain permission from some of you to use your images in this pretend archive site I have to make. I will probably delete it after it is graded, but I just need to make sure I have permission from you all that don't mind me using your pics. So anyone who is OK with me borrowing their images for this project, please let me know. I will share the project here (super boring metadata coding, and not advanced as flickr....) before I delete it.

I would prefer that you do not use any of my pictures that you can find unless they are of that one I build I did that was nice quality with the Orc blacksmith. If you manage to find pictures from those, I do not mind you using them as long as you credit me.
