I'm sure alot of people have been bothered before by the old 8 tooth gear moving between pin holes. Either way, if the new one is stronger, that's good, especially for those who build and drive offroad trucks and damage old 8 tooth gears.

I only learned about the new 8t a few months ago after someone on EB told me about them. I ordered a few and was extremely impressed with the results, and put them to good use in my crawlers. :sweet:

I'm sure there are some other people, perhaps new to EB that didn't know, cause it is easy to miss the odd thread.

BrickLink posted it about 8 months ago. But not everyone is on BrickLink so at least someone here may have found it to be "news". :D

I was expecting to see the red non friction 8 tooth gear in here...

Same here, could use a few of those for a new MOC I'm building (teleloader). Anyone know if they are for sale yet? And no, not planning on buying 42009.

It doesnt seem to be added to Bricklink yet but there is one seller (NL) who appears to have parted out 42009 already as I have just ordered some of the new panels from him.

You could try asking him if he has them available.

I think it fits, though I haven't tested it. The teeth themselves aren't any longer, they just have more support.
