Brainbox Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Spinning out of the 'favourite books/novels' thread, this is a place to discuss comics. Recent purchases, artists, story arcs, new releases, etc. I've been collecting some of the UK Collectors Editions for a short while now. I collected Batman Legends (vol 1) from #6 to the end at #41, and (vol 2) from #1 to now (#4 out next Thurs). Quite enjoying the current crop in (vol 2), with All-Star Batman and Robin, Batman and Son and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, especially as Ed McGuiness and Andy Kubert favourite arists of mine. I also collect Fantastic Four Adventures and Avengers United. I started FFA at #19 (got #23 today) and AU at #75 for Avengers: Dissassembled (got #77 today). FFA has been great, seeing as Mike Wieringo is another of my favourite artists (his art is just *wub* ). Not yet had chance to read his last FF story, 'Tag' in #23, but no doubt I'll find time later. Looks pretty good from what I've seen. I bought 'Infinite Crisis' the other month. Wow! I hope to buy 'Civil War' as well when I find it. I've never really bought TPBs, but now I've found Borders here in the UK, I intend to buy lots more. I walked in to the one in York last year and thought 8- Quote
Capn Kirk 911 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 I like graphic novels better than comics. And my personal favorite two are the HALO GRAPHIC NOVEL, and 300 GRAPHIC NOVEL, I recommened those. Quote
Brainbox Posted March 9, 2007 Author Posted March 9, 2007 300 GRAPHIC NOVEL, I recommened those. And what with the film coming out, I can guess lots of people will want to read it either before or after they see it. Its about the Battle of Thermopyle isn't it? Quote

ApophisV Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Okay, lets see: As an overall Marvel guy I will never touch any DC comic! :-P Okay, I am not THAT strange, maybe I will even get the TPB reprint of Miller's Batman the Dark Knight... If there is some money leftover, meaning probably not. :-P Nonetheless, here are my current ongoing- and mini-series' I am buying: Panini (Germany): [*]Spider-Man (monthly, collecting two Spidey issues per month, mainly Amazing SM) [*]Im Netz von Spider-Man (miscellanious Spidey-series, each Panini issue collecting four or five issues) [*]X-Men Sonderheft (misc. X-Men series, e.g. X-Men - The End) [*]X-Men (monthly, collecting four US issues each, Uncanny X-Men, X-Men, lately New Excalibur,...) [*]Spider-Man & die neuen R Quote
