flailx Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) "The house is built in the modular style", does that mean it would fit together with another modular house like Café Corner on two sides? Or is it "modular" because you can lift out each floor? I meant that you can lift out each floor. Thanks to all for the nice comments! I have a few more pics of the kitchen appliances as their hard to see in some of the pics. Other pics here http://www.flickr.com/photos/flailx/ Edited August 12, 2013 by flailx Quote
The Jersey Brick Guy Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Any chance you can do a PDF of directions? Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 That is looking great. I love interiors, so you don't need a lot to impress me, but this has staying power. I love the parlour. The furniture looks great. The addition of a library is neat. I love the stair-runner. I can't wait to see the upstairs. Keep up the great work! I really need to try my hand at this. Although I like the dilapidated HH, and my daughter likes the hinge opening. Quote
flailx Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 (edited) Any chance you can do a PDF of directions? Did you mean of the kitchen elements or of the whole house? I believe I could, as I "built" all of this in LDD before proceeding to actual brick. The house, when complete, will probably be around 7000 - 8000+ pieces. I think I'm around 6000ish right now... The Jersey Brick Guy Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Everything!! It's an amazing build! Quote
flailx Posted August 15, 2013 Author Posted August 15, 2013 Update: I've been doing some work in LDD to try to figure out what to do with the 2nd floor. I did a panelling study and turned it into a bath. However, I think the main bath will have wainscoting though the fixtures will be very similar. Quote
Redhead1982 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 The batroom looks great, actually. I like the large bath - it's an interesting choice of a part. Also the walls have an interesting design, and they'd look great in any room. Quote
Legogal Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 This is much, much better than the HH! Many of us have wanted to use the HH as a base and make a real house. You have done it with such style and lovely colors, which I adore. The interior really pops, too, with such stylish furniture. Thanks for sharing this to help motivate the rest of us into action. Cheers! Quote
datune Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 Fantastic build, can't wait to see it finished! Would love to see the PDF as well once it's done... Quote
flailx Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 (edited) Thanks Redhead1982, Legogal and datune! Here's a view of the back, you can see the first floor toilet and kitchen windows. Also, I have "painted" the cornices light tan instead of black. I have more pics, including some detail shots, here. Edited August 19, 2013 by flailx Quote
Hobbythom Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 (edited) Great work on that bathroom! Would you mind sharing the LDDfile? I can't figure out some of the techniques... Edited August 19, 2013 by Hobbythom Quote
CoolerTD Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Really cool MOC. It will be so cool to see on one photo both of them. The haunted house and your MOC/MOD, with all residents. Something like 'Before' and 'After'. Interior is amazing Quote
Balthazar Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Amazing modification! And i like house colour. Quote
B Rick Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Jawdropping awesomeness... I love that interior as much as I love the new outside details. The orange chimney fits perfectly with the green. I really like the original haunted theme but I'm you've made me wondering wheather or not I should un-haunt mine... Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Wow! Those are all great details! Keep up the good work! :-) Quote
LEGO Family Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Fantastic build and lovely details. Im loving your windows on the attic and im gonna borrow that method for a build of my own. ;) Quote
NoEinstein Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 I just now stumbled on this MOCD. The haunted house is the main reason I got out of my dark ages. Although comparing them is not completely fair (different themes and budgets) this house pales the haunted house. I cannot wait for updates. Quote
tman684 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Wow! This is an amazing build! I think you just inspired me to fix up my haunted house! I love your attention to detail; little things like the molding and the stair railings are great! I can't wait to see if you do anything with the second floor! Quote
Colossus Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 (edited) Man, if I had the balls to disassemble my HH, then this would be the reason to do so! I can't get over how well you designed the interior. I dont know where to start. So many little intricate details just put this house over the top: the stacked plates in the kitchen, the doorway details, the bannister. The bathtub and refrigerator builds are truly inspired, and the inclusion of the first floor study is just too cool. Thank you for sharing! Edited June 21, 2014 by Colossus Quote
