I agree with that, jonwil.

But I do agree it would be cool to see some Asian architecture that's not 100 different colors and so bizarre looking. I do like the ninjago city sets quite a bit, but something more realistically Asian would be cool.

I really just think that the previous "Houses of the World" should have just been modulars, and Lego could have featured different buildings from different lands.

It's really a shame they didn't at least make those minifigure scale. Not necessarily with backs, etc, but minifigure scale. I guess I'm thinking like the size of the holiday town set with the music store/toy store. That set was incredibly popular and inspired SO MANY alternative builds/modifications. Making the HOTW series that size would've been outstanding. Lego could keep their costs down (as opposed to a 3000+ piece set) and demand would've been really high I think. Oh well.

Totally agree! It would be cool to see what they could do with roofs and things. Or maybe a couple molded dragon parts for the roof like I've seen on some sets from brands that cannot be named here.

Edit (removed some random words that I guess I started typing at the beginning that just said "ooh and a")

I suspect the answer to "I want Asian architecture" is "Ninjago"...

No thanks.

Speaking of GWwp series, here's an upcoming minifig-sized one. It's a Japanese-themed food stand: https://www.lego.com/en-id/product/restaurants-of-the-world-japan-40906

It's also not a Ninjago set.

Thank you for the info! Japanese food stand sounds cool to me.

Agreed. I don’t want to see Ninjago-focused modular sets. I prefer realistic Asian modular buildings like Sushi Restaurant from BDP. I was hoping that Chinese New Year’s restaurant set was a 16x32 modular building but nooooo :/

I like the idea of some Asian architecture, but it would have to still fit in with the rest of the modular line - which is easier said than done. So I think you're limited to things like the Palace Cinema with it's faux facade. Or say, this MOC by LEt.sGO:

It has that "facade in a regular street" vibe.

I do love how this blends "Chinatown" into an otherwise western style street!

This is why I want to see Lego taking on new challenge with blending Asian architecture into Western landscape like Chinatown / Japantown. I feel like it’s time for Lego to go beyond their “standard level”.  This looks great!

Oooh yes, I do like something like that, that looks fantastic! I can also imagine like the blue building in Assembly Square where the first two floors of a smaller corner building are that style and then the other buildings still fit.

I can see Hispanic and Asian archiectures (not Ninjago ones, mind you, jonwill….) can blend with existing modualar buildings real nicely. Say, we can build Hispanic and Asian communities. I still can’t believe there are no office modular buildings sets based off House of the World GWPs! Oh and cherry blossom form Natural History Museum kinda mocks me becuase there is no Asian place….  COME ON LEGO!
