If anyone (in the UK)  had been waiting for Tudor Corner, I just snagged it from Argos for £160. I’ve been trying to be patient, and doubt I’ll find it cheaper than that. I also bought 76975 as well, from them and will attempt to work the Trex into the natural history museum!

I’m not in UK but I kinda regretted buying Tudor Corner in a full price in order to get Kiosk Corner GWP this past January.  This GWP is impossible to fit into Modular City if it has a thick small baseplate.  Plus, I should have waited for discount on Tudor Corner! Next time then….

Ive put a stop to buying them straight away, as I never have time to build them then anyway. Vague plan is to wait for them in a sale or at the very least, a points day. This is the first time I’ve managed it-I almost missed the 80113 restaurant though, and never saw it on sale.

Have just noticed that John Lewis have the Jazz club and Boutique hotel for 25% off if anyone in the UK is interested.

Random quesiton: how is it likely for Lego to produce a courthouse?? We have Police Station but it feels weird without lawyers and judge somewhere.

I was wondering that too, with the discussion on sets Lego won't produce. I mean we got the couple marrying at the Town Hall, which could also be done in a courthouse. Maybe it would have to be a large civic building like the Town Hall or Museum and they considered some of the functions taken care of already with previous sets? I don't know, that's the best explanation I could come up with.

Agreed.  And I noticed the facade on Police Station - it has several columns, that reminds me of courthouse.  It has a “just” vibe. I think American Colonial architecture would suit a courthouse better, red bricks with white columns.  Layout inside the courthouse might be little tricky - judge’s office, a hearing room, a clerk’s desk, lawyer’s office (?). I feel it’s best for 1.5 baseplate building, i don’t know…

And It would be hilarious if a donut thief from Police Station makes another appearance in courthouse (standing before the judge) or even Brickster from Lego Island. It would be cute if it includes two men or women as a married couple recidivist a marriage license from there.

I jsut can’t see why Lego should not produce a modular building like courthouse??

It depends how good the new Modular release will be this year.  I usally purchase 1st day if I want them.   If I delay, then I really don't want the set and oftin regreat purchasing when on sale.

As previously mentioned, more healthcare oriented professionals would be greatly appreciated. We already have a dentist in AS and a Vet in CG and a small clinic would be greatly appreciated. The Modular street is set within small town, so I wouldn’t expect a hospital.
In addition to a clinic, a pharmacy, a grocery store, a post office, a school and a library are the major amenities for a small town that are still missing

I mean, I'm not trying to start a thing here, but buildings like the Grand Emporium and the Palace Cinema and even the Corner Garage, and more – they're all the sort of thing you see in the downtown of a big bustling metropolis. Nothing about the modulars has ever said "small town" to me, so I guess what I mean is, it's still all on the table as possibilities.

I also think of the modular street as being in a city rather than a small town. I also see it as something from the 40s-60s. So a single baseplate hospital feels entirely appropriate and doesn't have to live up to the sprawling modern hospitals.

I think we are much more likely to get an office than a hospital. A Dr office similar to the dentist would be great.   Would also make For some cool alternate figures. Post office and Dr are tops missing things I think. So many sets have post boxes

top for me

Post office

hardware store

Dr office

bike / scooter shop/ sm repair bay

And does Boutqiue Hotel and Natural History Museum as part of “small town” because they are bit more grand?

Anyways, hospital should be necessary for Modular Street as we have police and fire stations. We need third emergency service with ambulance.

A hospital for me would have to be around the size of the Museum or even 2 32×32 plates, maybe fornthe 20th anniversary, if it's not thay big then maybe an Urgent care modular since they can be smaller.

I don’t know how long Natural Histoy Museum will stay on shelves until we have another 1.5 or 2.0-baseplate Modular Building set? I don’t feel a hospital set would be enough festive to be a 20th anniversary set jsut like Natural History Museum  (even tho it has references to the beloved themes, such as Pirates, Castle, and Space). Wishfully, I would love to see a 20th anniveary set as a skyscraper.  I just think it’s best to transform “small town” into “city” . And it would be cute if a stereotypical superhero minifigure included, lol.

Plenty of department stores and cinemas in towns around here

I just wish Lego could introduce us something unique and differerent - Asian architecture. We have been seeing European and American facades since 2007.  I don’t feel Palace Cinerma has some Asian archeicture? It would be cool to see Japanese restaurant with Kyotoian architecture or Chinese townhouse like we had one in Chinese New Year theme.

And it would be cool to have a Mexican building with Day of the Dead celebration. We need more residential buildings!

because it's inspired by the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood...

anyway, I wish for a Post Office in the Maribor's Post Office Style... It's the perfect match for a modular street!maribor-slovenia-may-beautiful-building-

Grauman's Chinese Theater is as Asian as your typical "American Chinese food". LOL

Yes, a post office in modular form has looooong been overdue. Common, Lego!

It's common to have a post office in a pharmacy where I am, so the idea of having a post office, pharmacy, and a doctor's office upstairs is appealing and covers a lot of services in one modular. That would be nice to see.

Brickise mentioned there was a Lego event he was going to later this month. I think that’s the designer interview event for the year where they release a lot of these sets. Last year a lot of the modular info leaked right after this event. H

They already have plenty of Asian architecture in the portfolio with the Chinese New Year, Monkie Kid & Ninjago themes.  Yes some of them are mash-ups but definitely Asian inspired.

Sure they have done that in non-Modular Buidling themes. Ninjasgo’s modular-like buildings sets are nice, yet unofficial to this collection.  I just wish Lego could an official Modular Building as an Asian-style building like Chinese Newy Year restaurant or housed or Ninjago’s ones. I can see why they don’t do anything for Modular Buidlings while there are ones in Ninjago theme.
