This one is a bit different than my usual vehicular MOCs, it's actually a building. I designed it a while ago and have made minor changes a few times since then. It's a modular hotel, but it's not only modular because it could potentially connect to official modular buildings, but also because you could add a few floors if you felt like it.

Here's the smallest configuration you could get:

You get a lobby in the ground floor, two rooms with balconies on the first floor, and a two-level suite at the top.

But there's also this floor:

It makes this hotel a modular modular building as you can add as many of these as you wish. It can be one:

Or maybe two:

You get the idea)

So that's it. So far it's the only building I've managed to design and not be disappointed with how it looked when it was finished) I have to admit, though, there isn't much of an interior at the moment, and the sidewalk turned out really narrow. Anyway, hope you like it, would be happy to hear any suggestions. And if you like it enough and have plenty of spare pieces, here's a link to the .lxf

Now that would be epic in real bricks!

I really like the balconies - although I dread to think how many 1x plates are in that front facade. Do you have an idea of the brick count?

That's the problem with LDD - you kinda stop caring about stuff like that) There's indeed a LOT of plates - almost 230 1x1s, around 450 1x2s and something like 100 corner plates. Tiles are also quite numerous - 120 1x1s, 220 1x2s and 100 2x2s plus a whole bunch of longer 1x tiles. So yeah, even if I manage to build it IRL, it won't be soon)

If that cornice is made with "Curved Slope 1x3" in green, then the model cannot be build, because that piece does not exist...

Otherwise very nice design!

Looks great! I'm not very fond of the balconies on the first floor (you lose expensive square footage in a big city) but they could work for the penthouse. The entrance to the hotel is just gorgeous.

Thanks to all of you for the comments!

First of all, thanks a lot, 'Hoexbroe'! I am a big fan of your designs, especially the cars, those Citroens are simply stunning. So it's really great to get a comment from you)

Speaking about that brick, it's actually dark green, and it actually exists. (EDIT: 1x4 Double Curved Slope in dark green doesn't) According to Bricklink, it isn't very rare either. However, I have to admit that I am not very thorough when it comes to checking which of the parts I use are parts that exist, so I am myself quite surprised) I know for a fact, that the number and the variety of olive green pieces in this MOC is quite ridiculous

Again, LDD is too forgiving when it comes to things like this)

Thanks, 'jamesn'! You are quite right, the rooms with the balconies aren't very roomy, and that's why I have that balcony-less floor) BTW, your WInter Palace design is really impressive

Very nice design with all of the many plates resembling nicely laid, thin pieces of stone used in so many facades of many famous buildings. Would dread building this one with a gazillion bricks it looks like!

It seems that the ground floor would be a bit dark...it is clear that you built in some privacy from the nearby street. What would happen if you used larger windows there and place tall plants inside because there is no room outside...to give the inside privacy and light? Or used some skylights to the balcony on the roof?

Again the design looks wonderful!

Wonderful hotel you've made there, I'd love to see it brick built too, but it would seem that won't happen any time soon, but it's still a great design!

I look forward to more, happy building

I'm not a big fan of LDD, I only recently tried long enough to almost finish one of my smaller models in LDD. However, this beauty looks great and I'd love to see it in bricks (and plates). The modular aspect of the hotel is great, adding different floors adds to the build. My favorite variation is on the last picture, with 2 floors over the entrance, and then the floor with terraces. Well done.
