mssm Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I don't think it could hurt to place the order if you want the set and it lets you. hat being said it is unclear whether they will be able to fulfill the order - I think the picture of how much stock is currently available is unclear at this stage. Just remember they wont charge you for something they can't supply. What if the orders exceeds 20 000 at this time? Some get their orders cancelled? Happy times then! 4x4 might be a slow rider meaning that the orders must be handled manually to correct all taxes, shipping and so on... The site clearly states that "Product availability may be inaccurate during this time." Quote
Jim Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 u have to remember 20,000 sets is for worldwide, online and stores. There are a lot of collectors and also a lot of ppl that will buy 5+ sets to flip later on. i think its sold out online. I really hope you are wrong The limit to buy online is 2, but there are enough ways to bypass this problem. Everybody is so convinced this set is sold out, that I am starting to doubt myself. Quote
N-4K0 Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 So I just saw the 41999 on the shop site for the first time, as I was on the wrong site before, and here it also says "Out of stock, expected ship date 5 Sep 2013". Quote
Jim Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I was a fence sitter too - for me it was the price, suddenly we see a set which doesn't seem wildly over priced (its actually $50nzd lower than the original crawler), so I order at lunch rather than wait - and then surprise it's out of stock when I log in at home after work I wasn't planning on buying it and now I have ordered it and might not get it, I would be disappointed. Mixed emotions Quote
EyesOnly Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Now it says 19 september. Why does the date keep getting pushed forward? And still no new PF either. Quote
skriblez Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Out of stock on the Norwegian S@H site. Will check Toys r Us and a store in town that has a bunch of Legos. Price might be silly there but if its the only way... Quote

Not sure about Europe though Quote
Jim Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 What's the procedure with order confirmations? I haven't received one, so I guess my order is still pending in some way. When you do get an order confirmation, you are guaranteed to get one? Quote

Happy times then! 4x4 might be a slow rider meaning that the orders must be handled manually to correct all taxes, shipping and so on... The site clearly states that "Product availability may be inaccurate during this time." It's a risk - but unless it stops you tracking down one in a store the risk is the same as not placing the order sadly. I'll be gutted for people if they miss out as I really thought this set was going to be available for a while, hopefully Lego are simply adjusting things to be more manual on their end so they can meet incoming orders. FuzzyBallz Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 OOS on the US S@H. Expect 30 days for next shipment. Oh happy days. I will see if I can use LEGO in house credit at a LEGO store or if it's restricted to phone in order only. Quote

paul_delahaye Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 If anyone follows trains as well as Technic, you'll remember the limited editon Santa Fe train from early 2000's, they released 10'000 limited edition with certificate and printed number tile, afterwards they put it on general release wihtout the limited edition as the demand was high. Alternator Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I wasn't planning on buying it and now I have ordered it and might not get it, I would be disappointed. Mixed emotions Mmm, I placed my order while the site had it listed as in stock - but even still I wonder how they will handle orders - I've received a confirmation they've received my order, but I wonder that they may have to do draws or something if they were inundated - it's all speculation on my part (and I've been wrong a lot recently ) Quote
Jim Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 If you do get an order confirmation, you should be guaranteed to get it. They wouldn't send you a confirmation if you were to not get it. My thoughts exactly. So now, we wait for a confirmation Quote
fresko Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I have ordered mine about 0h05 GMT, or 1h05 GMT+1. I have my ordernumber (included in the checkout), but I haven't got an e-mail yet. Does I have to worry and contact the customer service? Quote
DrFrankenstein Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 The hunt for the elusive 91444 reminds me of the "Jingle All the Way" movie from the 90s with Arnold chasing after an exclusive toy. Never thought I would be living the movie for real. Happy times Quote
legolijntje Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 How wondering, how can the thing be out of stock and avaiable at a later date, if they already made them (at an fixed amount of 20.000)? In my thoughts, it's or "We still have some" or "Nope, they're all gone" and not "We don't have them anymore at the moment, but they will be back in a few days". Quote
PsyKater Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I think to make sure, that they sell not more than the available sets, they make it a smaller quantity. Say they left 10'000 units for S@H (worldwide), then they reduced the availability to 5'000 yesterday. I could imagine something like that. Quote

In my thoughts, it's or "We still have some" or "Nope, they're all gone" and not "We don't have them anymore at the moment, but they will be back in a few days". I was thinking the exact same thing. If they only sell it via the website, it wouldn't be too hard to display a message "sold out". I think to make sure, that they sell not more than the available sets, they make it a smaller quantity. Say they left 10'000 units for S@H (worldwide), then they reduced the availability to 5'000 yesterday. I could imagine something like that. That thought crossed my mind as well. In order not to disappoint anyone, they limit/reduce the availability even more. I have ordered mine about 0h05 GMT, or 1h05 GMT+1. I have my ordernumber (included in the checkout), but I haven't got an e-mail yet. Does I have to worry and contact the customer service? I don't think calling customer service will help a lot. They will probably tell you to be patient and wait for your confirmation. Did anyone else get their confirmation? Quote

Talked to the customer service right away. Free shipping is right, the amout is getting corrected when the order ships. Edited August 1, 2013 by mssm Quote

paul_delahaye Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 I just rang Lego Direct as I'd received no order confirmation, but the man said all is good, plus I get a free hot dog cart :-) Obviously their order confirmation system struggled last night. Quote
madjelly Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Was checking lego s@h before midnight and placed order on time. Got my confirmation and was charged already. I will become even more insane from waiting for shipment. Would be ironic that when it arrives, I get sent into psych hospital Quote
EyesOnly Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Yeah but if it's out of stock, what's up with the ship date and why is there still an add to bad button. If the ship date refers to those who already ordered the set then just print it on the order page. No need to keep it on the main page. I'm hoping that it will be a general release sometime in in september close to when the current ship date. If only to stick it to all those who bought sets hoping to sell with a huge profit. Which at the moment seems like it will work. Quote
