Optimax X Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I desided to make this thread now i have one entry on the boards, please, if you can, enter! A nightmare scenario for this contest if not many people (say 3) entered. I would like afew entries to make in interesting voting wise, so if you have the time and like MOCing, enter! This contest's theme is fighters, and thanks to gravytrain, this is the first entry.Space rake -By Gravytrain. Good look! Oh, one last thing, could a admin kindly pin this topic please? Thanks, Optimax.
GravyTrain Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 And for people who want the full story, here's my post from the other thread: The Space Rake Link for slow connectors! Took ages to upload! Gallery when public The Rake Fighter is a part of what many space-farers call the "fleet of the damned". Rake pilots used to be humans but were harvested by the fleet. Their brain energy consumed by the Knowledge Eater and their bodies wired into the fighters, they are little more than drones.
Brainbox Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 OK, here we go. The Rookyr (Rook-ear) Fighter, grown (surprisingly enough) from the Rookyr tree. Completely organic, every part of the fighter is grown, from the guidance systems and the engine, to the body and the weapons. Even the pilot hatched out of a pod on Xichyr (zi-cheer). Before hatching, the hatching pod designates the occupant, hence the different colours of the pilot and the mechanic. Weapons: 2x missiles. Yes, I know they look like parsnips. 1x cluster bomb, containing metal-eating spores. 2x guns (at the front of the fighter). Yes, the bullets are organic, and the guns are actually shooting plants. The pilot interfaces with the sensory control panel. The green thing is his gun. In case of emergency, shipside or planetside landing, the leafy part instinctively detatches itself, feeding off the ground (or whatever). It can adapt to use any grounding as food. On takeoff, it knows to reattatch itself. In a normal landing on Xichyr, the fighter stands in an organic base, recieving both natural and artificial nutrients from its 'stand.' The fighter is actually grown in a field, and moved to the 'stand' when fully grown. This one is obviously fully grown. The weapons systems are grown on-site, and a constant supply is maitained. A loyal team of pilots and mechanics man the squadron bases. Gallery when public
Optimax X Posted March 11, 2007 Author Posted March 11, 2007 Wow- nice entry BB- gonna be hard to beat it. I have desided to enter a fighter i have made- so tha will be 3 people in the contest. EDIT- Here is my entry for the space contest- F1F super fighter Main pic Side pic Escape pod and pilot
ghoulrealm Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 This is the Cetus-01 landed position This craft is an experimental design using reverse engineered components of a derelict alien ship discovered in the outer reaches of space. The alien technoglogy was vastly superior in the hull alloys, computer and certain sensor capabilities. The conventional components include the 3 phaser cannons mounted at points along the rear wings and the array of cloaking and holo emiters at the bow. the bow also features a turret that can fire 180degrees along the ventral side of the ship. a view of the landing gear retracted aft view. The main drive is the knob that retracts and extends the landing gear (it takes just over two full rotations to bring them into position) The three rear wing assembly can be jettison from the ship in case of weapon overloads. It is held in place by a single technic axle. The brickshelf gallery of this ship More details of the landing gear Here
Dino_Bot Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 CX Thunderbolt Gun Fighter (Or classic style fighter, your pick) This one is called the Thunderbolt due to all its luminescent pieces, which project light energy projectiles out of their tips, that, when it comes in contact with an enemy fighter's hull, it deals plenty of damage, but its accuracy is what makes this a very deadly weapon to fly on. They are highly adaptable flighters, that may not be as quick as a Stealth Vamp, or any sort of seeker, ranging in velocities somewhat above a gunship's, but as I said, can be highly adaptable, and has hyperspace capabilities. It also features very good maneurability and are usually very stable. "Watch out for those Vulture Droids, Thunder Leader!" "I'm hit!" I know the color scheme is a little messed up, but I went to great lengths to integrate some McDonalds Lego pieces that I found laying around, and some Insectoids as well. I also tried to maintain a great level of classic space style when I did this. The Pilot for this one is Sulev Garkamer. One day, I'll plan to do an all blue or all black one, or one that doesn't look so odd in color sense.
Optimax X Posted March 14, 2007 Author Posted March 14, 2007 Wow, what a nice suprise seeing all of these new entries, thanks so much guys, this has turned into a proper contest now.
Dino_Bot Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 So...what's the prize for teh winner? I've had the CX thunderbolt for 4 years and now its gonna be useful for something. In fact, I just gave it the new cockpit, which isn't that annoying insectoid cockpit that...isn't sealed, this one still isn't sealed, but at least the pilot won't run out of oxygen XD.
Optimax X Posted March 16, 2007 Author Posted March 16, 2007 Bragging rights- saying you are the best space fighter MOCer on eurobricks. Deadline is the 31st so not long before the polls start to come up.
imhotepidus Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 OK, here it is, the final version of the Homba 7033: Brickshelf (when modded) In addition to the cokpit that slides open, there are also hatches that open on the tops of the engines for maintenance, and retractable landing gear. So the ship actually has a number of moving parts, and a lot of playability! There is a gif here showing some of the various moving parts - but be warned, it is a LARGE file. :-( Anyway, I hope you like! Roy
Optimax X Posted March 29, 2007 Author Posted March 29, 2007 Wow, super impressive MOC! Okay, this is your final warning, the deadline is this sunday, i will acept no more entries after sunday, that means monday will be the day when the poll is up. Voting for yourself will be aloud.
snefroe Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 i still expect to have an entry before sunday, but i'm still looking for some inspiration, honestly... :-X
xenologer Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 ...i'm still looking for some inspiration, honestly... Plenty of unusual hull shapes in here: http://www.wcnews.com/ships2/p2pirate.shtml Can you really go from inspiration to complete MOC in just 2 days remaining? If you can pull it off so fast I'll definetly be impressed... been staring at my own fighter's concept skeleton for the past week with no real progress X-D I'm mainly drawing a blank on the main body... I dont want to end up with a big block of 'dead bricks' but not having any good ideas on how to add special features...
snefroe Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Can you really go from inspiration to complete MOC in just 2 days remaining? well that's the big question, isn't it? X-D :-X
CopMike Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Can you really go from inspiration to complete MOC in just 2 days remaining? If you can pull it off so fast I'll definetly be impressed... sne - the man that builds spaceships lightning fast ;-) ! Contest On copmike

Kikuichimonji Posted April 1, 2007 Posted April 1, 2007 Well, I didn't get my ship done, so I'm entering an older creation, the Sphere Mk. II: Brickshelf EB topic
Optimax X Posted April 2, 2007 Author Posted April 2, 2007 Sne has ran out of time. I am accepting no more entries and i will start to make the poll in a separate topic now.
