commodore_legolas Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I heir by announce this thread to be all about Weird Al. Post any questions, rumors, what your favorite song of his is, whatever. Just as long as it's about Weird Al! Quote
just2good Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 (edited) About time someone made a topic about him! 'commodore_legolas' always knows this, but I'm a HUGE Al fan, or Aloholic as they call it. My favorite ALbum is Running With Scissors or Poodle Hat, I'm a huge fan of his polkas (my favorite is Alternative Polka), and I'm active on some other Al fan sites. I'll probably rank his albums, originals, and parodies on here later. Also, I've listened to all of his commercially released songs and some uncommercially released songs by him. Also, I'm hyped for ALbum 14! Edited April 3, 2013 by just2good Quote
Marckeyh Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 One of my favorite songs is 'White and Nerdy'. It's such a great song, and shows he can do loads of genres. And his movie 'UHF' is fantastic, Ive seen it so many times. Also Fran Drescher is in it. Quote
commodore_legolas Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Well, since you guys like this topic, I'll tell you guys my favorite song: Albuquerque! It's just so random and awesome. Also, on a LEGO related subject, me and just2good are planning a UHF Cuusoo project! Be sure to support it when I finish and post it! Be sure to check out my Custom Weird Al minifig in the Minifig Customization Workshop! Quote
just2good Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Well, since you guys like this topic, I'll tell you guys my favorite song: Albuquerque! I love Albuquerque. It's probably his funniest song. A lot of people don't like it because it's a lot like Dick's Automotive by the Rugburns, but that's why it's a style parody. My favorite original song by Al is Hardware Store. It's not even a style parody but it's awesome! Quote
commodore_legolas Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Hardware Store is awesome. I haven't heard the Dick's Automotive, but Albuquerque is better. Today my favorite song of his might be Happy Birthday, since today's my birthday. Quote

commodore_legolas Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 (edited) Thanks. The Cuusoo project will be hard, but worth it. So Al fans, I need your help. I'm planning to make a 1999-present Al, but I don't know what head I should use. You can tell me your idea here or there: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=81086 Thanks guys! just2good Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 (edited) Has anybody read about any updates on Album 14? All of 'em are on WOWAY forums. Basically, thry got six songs recorded (it might be three because it was three in September but I know they went back to the studio). One might be about hamsters (third song about them) and one might be patriotic. Al has expressed that this most likely is his last album. He's going to go independent with single releases after. commodore_legolas Posted June 14, 2013 Author Posted June 14, 2013 Has anybody read that Al has recorded half of his new ALbum?! I'm so excited! Also, ever noticed that there is a LEGO thing in the bottom right hand corner of the 'Dare to be Stupid' cover? And one last thing, me and just2good have created a Cuusoo project about Al, we'd appreciate your support! http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/42157 Quote

Aanchir Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I enjoyed "The Saga Begins" (parody of "American Pie") during my childhood. Memorized it at summer camp one year. Still hilarious to this day. Weird Al also did a fantastic job in his guest appearance as Cheese Sandwich in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episode "Pinkie Pride". I burst out laughing when he sang the chorus of Pinkie Pie's "The Smile Song"! I'm not a huge Weird Al fan, but I definitely have respect for the guy as one of the best musical parodists of my time.
