QQS Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Hello! I'm not sure if this is the right subforum, because "Lego Action Figures" fits here quite well too. The main reason, why I've chosen "Lego Sci-Fi" is because the Universum of Transformers fits - in my opinion - much better here... and I like this subforum, don't know why :) I watched some TV shows about transformers and decided to make some of transformers I like - so I decided to start with Optimus Prime. But no, It's not the G1. That's some sort of mix: Prime from Transformers Prime + Animated Prime + WoC Prime + some details from Armada Prime + some my accents. I think that's ok, because Hasbro made many versions of Optimus too (20?). Autobots, transform and Roll out! BRICKSHELF DEVIANTART FLICKR version 1.0 (older) ROBOT-MODE Head was the hardest thing to do - in version 1.0 it was bigger and during Optimus transformation it had to be taken out. In this version, this problem doesn't exist. Front bumper transforms into some sort of machete. I think that the idea is ok, but execution could be better... And that's not Star Saber sword ... TRUCK-MODE ... and for ending: ~ QQS Quote
DraikNova Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Nice combo of bionicle and system. The transformation works quite well, without making either form look strange. Quote
QQS Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 The transformation works quite well, without making either form look strange. It was a hard task to do but I'm happy at the final results. Without transformation it couldn't be called a transformer ;) Wow great job! Both modes look awesome! Thank You :) Next step I'd like to do is to make him a trailer, which could transform into additional armor for Optimus. Quote
autorazr Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 whoa, that thing is incredible! It gives me ideas for the giant tub of bionicle and those throwing arm guys that I thought I'd never use for anything. Is it delicate, like could it actually be played with like an action figure? Quote
MSP Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Great recreation . And the Truck-Mode is quite curious. Quote
QQS Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 and those throwing arm guys that I thought I'd never use for anything. I think you're talking about Slizers/Throwbots ;) Is it delicate, like could it actually be played with like an action figure? I think that figure's playability is not bad at all. You can move arms/legs/ head and figure should be ok. Of course there are some more delicate parts, like glass-mouting, but it's connected with transformation, nonetheless I'm satisfied with the playability. And the Truck-Mode is quite curious. Thanks ;) Quote
Esurient Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Great work QQS! I like how your robot can actually transform. That's the beauty of being a transformer. Truck mode looks great too! Quote
TimH Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Awesome work! i look forward to the seeing the trailer. Quote
Takanuinuva Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Why is there a huna in the back of the truck mode? Quote
QQS Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 That's the beauty of being a transformer. Truck mode looks great too! I love transformers who transform into the truck ;) Awesome work! i look forward to the seeing the trailer. Thanks, I've just started it and hope to finish it. Why is there a huna in the back of the truck mode? That's because it covers Optimus's head in truck mode (you don't need to take off the head from the body during transformation). In robot mode it's some sort of packback. Quote
QQS Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 Ok, I made some changes in my model. Optimus looks more like G2 Optimus. He received new bigger armlets (part-morfing) and a sword (Star Saber). Optimus Prime v 1.2 Brickshelf DeviantArt FlickR Robot mode: Vehicle: And bonus scene: - Megatron will pay for this! Quote
