heyann Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I need pirate head gear for my minifigs. I never had te real pirates and when ever I try to make a MOC pirate, it never looks great without head gear and all I have is a black bandana. can Someone help me? Quote
ApophisV Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Bricklink.com is your friend! :-P Honestly, the best way to make a great Pirate fig is to use proper Pirate parts. Those shouldn't be too expensive, for something like 5 Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 9, 2007 Governor Posted February 9, 2007 You might also like to check out webesites like Minifigure Customization Network plus there are a few others which create custom mini-figure parts and sell them. Quote
Norrington Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I'd say custom sculpting over non pirate headgear (i.e. standard hair or a head). Like if you want the hat to be on one fig's head forever, just sculpt onto the head. Or sculpt it onto a hear peice so it can be removed. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 11, 2007 Governor Posted February 11, 2007 What's that other website that offers custom mini-figure gear for sale? Isn't it Red Bean or something like that? Quote
Norrington Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Yes he sells stuff, but only castle stuff, though those Scimitars could be used for Barbary Pirates... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 11, 2007 Governor Posted February 11, 2007 There's obviously a lot of crossover between Castle and Pirates, BaronSat acquired a beard from Red Bean for one of the mini-figures in Puerto Brico. So I'm assuming Red Bean would also offer other parts which may be useful to Pirates. Quote
Scouty Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Unknown Artist? He has something that could go with pirates...I dunno. Little Armory? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 11, 2007 Governor Posted February 11, 2007 What do you mean by Unknown Artist, Mr Imperial Scouts? Exactly who is this unknown artist? Quote
Scouty Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Well, Unkown Artist is a good minifig accesorizor. He has some trench coats and cloaks, like jedi cloaks. THough, they are tad expensive with a set costing 10-18$. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 11, 2007 Governor Posted February 11, 2007 Does he have a website? Quote
Scouty Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 http://www.unknown-artist-studio.com/Home.asp Here you go :-) . Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 11, 2007 Governor Posted February 11, 2007 I just Googled Unknown Artist myself - I also Googled Little Armory too so here's a link to their website, but they don't seem to have much to offer in the way of headgear. Quote
oo7 Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Baron Sat uses Armothe's Brickforge, there's some really great stuff there but the only thing really for pirates is the beards and that queer hair. 8-| UA is a member of our own dear website. ;-) http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...wtopic=5834&hl= Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 11, 2007 Governor Posted February 11, 2007 I thought he told me Red Bean... Either way it appears they're using the same mold for this beard which is what I had in mind when I made the post. Quote
El Bucanero Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I just Googled Unknown Artist myself - I also Googled Little Armory too so here's a link to their website, but they don't seem to have much to offer in the way of headgear. Aggh! Noo! The site links to a bricklink store only containing SW and modern weapons! Does anyone know what happened with the old site? I bought some beautiful weapons from that site, including a medieval scimitar I modified to a pirate scimitar... It would be a shame if they don't sell those anymore... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 12, 2007 Governor Posted February 12, 2007 When I last looked I'm sure there were 3 different kinds of swords for sale... Quote
El Bucanero Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 When I last looked I'm sure there were 3 different kinds of swords for sale... And when was the last time you looked? Do you still remember what swords? I believe it was more than 6 months ago I looked and there were still swords... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 12, 2007 Governor Posted February 12, 2007 I last looked 2 days ago... There was a broadsword but I'm not sure of the names of the other swords, but there was one that look kind of like this: Quote

Very nice sword though... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 12, 2007 Governor Posted February 12, 2007 Yes, that's where I got that drawn image from but Little Armory actually had a photogenic image of a sword "kind of like" that. It was different though because it had serrations spanning the entire length of the blade and there was no bowl guard on the hilt. Quote
