blaz62 Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Winter is over (almost ), so I put away the track and get wheels. This is my fourth and best version of crawler. For drive I'm use 2 L motors (1:3 gear ratio) and one M for steering (1:3). Quote
z3_2drive Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 looks great, BUT-you definitely need softer shock absorbers and maybe lower gear ratio(maybe), either way nice MOC! Quote
blaz62 Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 Gear ratio is ok, but suspension I must replace with the old, these are really to hard, but I do not have other. Quote
Crane-Trucker Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Your MOC looks nice but i don't think that your suspension is too hard but i think that the body needs more weight to get more angle of your axles Quote
Bzroom Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 (edited) If you use rocker arms, or push rod suspension, you can adjust the ratio and easily overcome the strength of those springs and attain a lot more travel. If you decrease the strength by half, you will double the travel, which is perfect for rock crawling. Create a right angle rocker arm where the top of the spring attaches now. Use a push rod instead of where the spring is now. Attach the spring at an adjustable (and probably much lower) lever arm length than the push rod. Voila, ridiculous travel.
