MrNumbskull13 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Hey people, I have a huge problem with building trial trucks and I was wondering if anyone could help me at all, thanks! My problem is, when my suspension compresses the U Joints move away from the axles! Is there a certain position I should put them where they won't do that. It's really annoying, please help! Quote
efferman Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 i think we need pictures to solve this problem Quote
pint14 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Yes pics would be useful. Maybe one solution could be this: Quote
Zerobricks Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Or use the CV joints, if there isnt too much torque involved, like steering etc.. Quote
AndyCW Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 The drive shafts need to be the same length as the suspension links. This way they move through the same arc during suspension cycle. The drive shaft should be on the same angle as the suspension links. The other solution is to utilize telescoping driveshafts. Quote
branolego Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 make sure your pivot points are at the same vertical point as well, this way everything stays parallel a moves at the same rate. hope that helps some. i had the same problem. Quote
MrNumbskull13 Posted January 31, 2013 Author Posted January 31, 2013 Thanks everyone! I have created a solution, something new, I've never seen it done before but you might have somewhere, I'll upload a video of it to YouTube when it's done. :) Quote
