I do believe this film was posted elsewhere, that or I saw it somewhere else. ^ POTBS have been posted here before as well.

The Movie: Very good, lots of fun. Animation is simple. And good sets!

It would appear the original animation isn't a "commercial" as such, even though it has a plug for California Cheese at the end.

However it appears this thread is turning into a collection of Pirate LEGO animations so perhaps its title should be amended to reflect that.

And now I shall comment on the first Pirate LEGO animation posted in this thread, "LEGO Pirates: Treasure"...

A cheerful tune carries along after the initial "ARRRRRs" at beginning. The animation is simple stop motion but what adds to the dynamism is the moving the camera shots. However it appears the animators were somewhat limited in this department as they don't seem to have any shots of animation while the camera so Ray Harryhausen wouldn't be feeling envy after viewing it.

However, that's more of an observation than a complaint. The animation is quite charming and I especially like how the Pirate mini-figures leave footprints.

It would seem there's more treasure outside the chest than there is inside, but I assume this is intentional because the actual treasure is the "Real Californian Cheese" or thats what I assume because a plug for cheese precedes the big reveal.

Oh, I loved that first one. Still have to get around to viewing the others, but for some reason that first film really captured the spirit of stop-motion animation, with innocence, goofy humor, and the spirit of bringing life to the lifeless.

This one is titled "Pirates!" by Jeremy Fisher I'm not sure how you got Redbears_fort Eldorado but its not the correct title and should be corrected.

And now I'll do a small review of "Pirates!" by Jeremy Fisher.

The story is quite simple, Captain Redbeard spies Eldorado Fortress and clumsily blasts it a cannon, this alerts the Soliders to his intentions and they launch a counter attack which sinks the Black Seas Barracuda. Captain Redbeard is left dead in the water - not literally though!

The camera used to take pictures from this animation was definitely lacking in quality and quite possibly it was the still image feature thats provided with most modern camcorders. The animation was quite choppy and jerky too, probably not the 15 frames per second that animation requires to flow smoothly. One credit I will give is the interesting use of cellophane to simulate water as translucency gives it a more liquid like quality.

Like many of these custom animations it borrows heavily from the Pirates of the Caribbean Curse of the Black Pearl soundtrack. Obviously because its an abundant and appropriate soundtrack for Pirate animations but it would be refreshing if more of these home animators sourced a different score. Also the accents of the character still sound "Americian" even though the vocal artist has employed some effort to disguise it.

So unfortunately I didn't enjoy this animation as much as I enjoyed LEGO Pirates: Treasure

I think at least half the films posted here were already posted even a thread made about them, but I guess this is just now the Official Pirate Animation Thread. My "secret" film is not using any soundtrack, but of other. I also use 20 FPS which is above average of what most use. I heard of somebody making a pirate film, but progress on it is uknown, and the animator is very, very good.

That was quite interesting Norrington, thank you for sharing. Although it seems to be megabloks, In the oder they appeared, I saw a shark, a stone pattern wall pannel, a key, a monkey, two swords, a spider, a bunch of BURPs/LURPs, a cat, a crystal, and a stingray all of Lego.

Not only was the anamation clever and pretty smooth, but the sound effects were great. *y*

EDIT: Looookkkk! Ittt'sssss Pheeesssss!
