clarkdef Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Ok I have been racking my brain trying to think of a way of how to get a good amount of steering travel through the buggy servo unit. It is ovious that the gear rack system doesn't work. Gearing up doesn't work because of two reasons, more gear play to soak up rotaion and mmore torque needed to turn it which this unit doesn't have. I didn't want to come here and ask because I like to figure things out myself, but yeah... Thankyou in advance Quote
S.I Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 You can use the paddles on the remote control and the extra output on the RC battery unit to power a M motor, and control the steering with that. Quote
midengineaddict Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Is the Gear 24 Tooth Clutch ... http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=60c01 someweare in the steering is good to prevent everything to break when a M motor is use? Quote
DLuders Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) Yes, there was a previous topic that discussed the return-to-center steering. The Power Functions Medium motor clips onto the hockey spring. The two yellow gears shown could be replaced by the Lego Clutch Gear that midengineaddict suggested. Zerobricks Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Use a big gear like 24 tooth or 20 tooth one, or the new turntable 28 tooth one and a rack! Quote
