Sorry for the poor pics and for not posting a lot of details--but I was eager to share my first (mostly) original creation since returning to Lego! This street is primarily made of parts from my childhood, although I did try to use some of the instructions from the new modular series. I'm hoping to improve on the set when I'm able to get some more pieces.

I hope to post some more (and better) pics soon. I have a few details inside of the buildings too.

Nice, bustling little street. I often forget to add minifigs to my scenes, but they make a big difference to bringing a creation alive.

You can definitely see the influences from the modular series, but it's different enough to be your own. Well done!

For the limited amount of pieces you have and piece types from that era you did a great job.(TLG has made a lot of new pieces over the last 10 yrs) The police headquarters is interesting for sure almost a scifi look especially the way the second floor was designed.

Your pizzeria is so very '90s, but fits in very well with your modular street! The building to the left of the pizzeria also looks very interesting and asks for more pictures.

Good start to a good town, JDW!

Very lovely work there JDW, a very good start indeed. Love what you did with what you've had. Now let us see what you can do with new, modern bricks my friend.

By the way. Welcome back to Lego. You've been away to long.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. On the police station - I knew I wanted to make a corner building, but I was running out of windows and I was running out of colors that would look OK with the other two buildings. So the final building looks a little strange, haha.

I enjoyed some of the newer (to me, anyway) building techniques. I look forward to getting some new pieces and experimenting further!
