jimmynick Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Hello! I"d like to show a model I made a few years ago of a cottage. It's still together, so C&C is welcome, especially on the windows. Outside shot: Rear corner; a better view of the windows: Small interior: You can see these pictures and browse others on Flickr. Thanks for looking! Quote
Brickington Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Great job! However, I feel the windows could looks a little more rustic. Quote
Blakstone Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 This is a very nice MOC. I especially like how you staggered various green plates to make a base. I am very curious in your roof. How did you do that particular SNOT? I agree that some of the rounded windows would look more medieval than those windows. Quote
jimmynick Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 I am very curious in your roof. How did you do that particular SNOT? Luckily, I took a reference picture for myself in the event I took it apart! This picture shows how the roof is put together with bricks, clips and lightsaber bars: The two halves of the roof sit lying towards each other. The chimney is this piece. It has a jumper plate on top, which engages with the lightsaber blade coming from the fireplace inside the house. That connection squeezes the roof into position. The overall construction is a bit tricky to put together but is fairly robust. Thanks again for reading. Quote
