blaz62 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Hey Today i will show you my new car. Car is very simple to build and you don't need a lot bricks (250+) and have only 410g (without batteries). Chassis is strong and smal. Car have 1 L motor for drive and 1 servo motor for steering. Car doesn't have really good design, because I try make "simple car" and i'm want to build only chassis. Design is your choice. You can simply remove the battery. !! Instructions !! Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 I don't have any of those new motors yet but I do plan on getting some. Its a very simple but good car.... Quote
blaz62 Posted October 31, 2012 Author Posted October 31, 2012 Yeah i know that it contains only new motor and that is bad. ;) Also I have in plan make this car with old motors (Xl, M motor). Drive is not problem because is almost same M motor (M-L). Problem is only steering. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 You could use rubber bands or a hockey spring or an option of ether one? Quote
Zerobricks Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Simple and fast! Those L motors sure are usefull. Quote
blaz62 Posted October 31, 2012 Author Posted October 31, 2012 I'm use this "Technic Axle Flexible 11' (32199) from 8069 Backhoe Loader set. Quote
rm8 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Yesterday I tested 2x L motors as alternative to 1 XL motor at my middle-scale awd mocs like this http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72502&hl=9395 or this http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73762&hl=8081. I built light awd chassis and mount 2L motors. The weight was simulated by two battery boxes (of course with accus) Weight of chassis and moc car about 900-950 g. So I can compare them. 2 L are better than 1 XL. i can say that 2 L's gives 1,5 times better performance. To say the truth, I waited for 2 times better performance:( Quote
blaz62 Posted October 31, 2012 Author Posted October 31, 2012 Yes that is true, but are you use same ir receiver or one old and one V2? Quote
rm8 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 (edited) Yes that is true, but are you use same ir receiver or one old and one V2? 2L - v2 Xl - v1 There is no difference in performance of XL while using v1 or v2. V1 is enough for 1 XL. I also found that practically. Edited November 1, 2012 by rm8 Quote
Phoxtane Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 What sort of performance can you get out of it by using the wheels that came with the Crawler? Quote
blaz62 Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) You mean wheels and tires or only wheels? Her is better "old school" body for this car: This 9 stud long black brick on door must be red, but.... Edited November 8, 2012 by blaz62 Quote
Phoxtane Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 You mean wheels and tires or only wheels? I meant the large tires and rims that came with the 4x4 Crawler set. Considering the speed you're getting out of it already, I would imagine that the larger tires would make it go faster! I like the updated car body; the servo motor sticking out of the hood looks like an air intake! Quote
