Jim Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Just a little "how To" movie of the brilliant 42007 Moto Cross Bike. Nice one Gio! I love motorbikes as well. They are so fun to build. Indeed, these tires look awesome. Will be picking this one up soon. Quote
davidmull Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Hi guys iv just finished building 42006 (material handler) and what a great set for a 1h medium set! I normally buy flagships but when I heard about this and seen that grab I wanted it, had to wait until it was in stock and bought it yesterday for €64.99 which is great value, Th build was not hard but really enjoyable and the grab is just genius :) everything works flawless and adding power functions is a must as it really brings the model to life, the gearbox works great and I like the way the gear levers are beside each other. It's also quiet a large set for the price and has the new grab and 3 la,s and lot s of other good parts. Have to say I'd give it a good 10/10 and I'd love to see someone make this RC :) If u havnt got this set yet do, I totally recommend it :) best 1h set ever! Quote
Traktor Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Do you think it is worth getting if you already have 8043? For me it seems like a simpler and far less complex edition of the excavator only with a grab instead of a bucket. Anyone who has both that can chair their opinion? Quote

Every Lego set is worth getting It all depends on your budget, whether you are a collector or buying sets for parts, whether you have other sets on your wish list, etc. Recently I have read it's a good 10/10 and that it's a must buy. I have also 2 of the 8043s and yes this is well worth getting , it's a really nice model and the price is quiet low I think. @ted do u not agree its a great set? I just love anything construction. Jim Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 @ted do u not agree its a great set? I just love anything construction. I could not agree more on both accounts! Construction sets are my favorite and this is no exception. I don't own it yet, but the moment I saw it, I knew I would buy this one. I would also love to see the claws combined with the 8043. Quote

Jim Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I would like too see the claw on 8043 too, hopefully someone might give it a go, I'm not a moccer , more a collector :) I hear you. Same goes for me. Guess we are in "can't get enough yellow construction sets team" Although I am now Modding the 9396 Helicopter. Maybe I will give it a go when I buy it in a few months. Kinda feel like building the 8043 again anyway. What about efferman's brilliant 8043 mod? That's a nice one. He only needs to replace the claws Quote
davidmull Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Is the claw available on Bricklink? Normally new parts don't be out at lego till months after release of set, not sure about brick link tho but if they are I'd say there very €€€€ :) Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) The claws are available at Lego Customerservice. Price is (at €2,33) a piece a little steap,... All the first half new parts are available too. Here are some examples: Edited January 21, 2013 by JunkstyleGio Quote
shadowhearth Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Just heads up, 42000 is available on LEGO.com. 89eu. Great price if you ask me. Maybe later on it will be cheaper on amazon, then ill grab one more. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 too bad it's UK and Ireland only... Quote
Jim Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) too bad it's UK and Ireland only... If you are really interested..... (or did you mean the parts?!) Marktplaats (Dutch eBay) for 99,50. http://www.marktplaa...previousPage=lr He also sells the 42006 material handler for 59,50. Edited January 21, 2013 by Gekke Ted Quote
davidmull Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) 42006 is only €64 in Ireland , @ Ted I didn't know new parts can be got that soon off lego! Why are the new L motors not available or are they? 42006 is a great set :) I'm starting my first mic soon the ultimate 8043 as I have 2 of them! Have u built the ultimate 8043 Ted? In don't really understand your question about the new parts. You probably meant JunkstyleGio instead of me. New sets are always available pretty soon on MarketPlace (Dutch eBay). Probably because sellers import sets from other countries. Or they have good connections with Lego, but my best bet would be importing. Yes, I have built the Ultimate 8043. In my opinion the best Technic Set with MOD ever, in terms of playability. It's so much better with the MODs. The build is not too difficult, although there isn't a lot of room left for the wires. I had to push a little bit to make it fit. It would be perfect if the upper body would be one or two studs wider. I am planning to build the orange excavator as well. I'm glad u like ultimate 8043, i was also going to ask u about how difficult it was cause this is my first moc :) I'm going too see what extra parts I need later as I have some of them, did u buy the 8878 batterie box? Will be picking this one up soon. 42007 just arrived yesterday. I wouldn't consider myself as "into" bikes usually, but it was a fun build and looks great. I may leave it up for display for a while. At £25 it was an impulse buy added onto an order for 9395. Edited January 24, 2013 by chorlton Quote
