Orlego Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Sorry, I don't do the Bionicle thing so I guess I would have to go for "None of the above". ;) Quote

Wolf04 Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 Totally off topic but I went to bzpower to see people's opinions on the Bionicle *system* sets. They do have pics up for Tower of Toa and Battle of Metru Nui but the comments are disturbing. Most people complained that the tower of toa (49.99) is too expensive. It's just so stupid that thinking a 50 dollar set is expensive. Most people there are pretty poor. Also some claimed they'll never buy because it has system pieces. I tell you, these people should be banned from buying LEGO. Yes, maybe I am taking this too seriously but Bionicle is destroying the kids' imagination. I presume those that don't want to buy it because of the price are also too lazy to actually build such a *complicated* set. Well you may not see it, but my middle finger will always be waving at those with a Bionicle set in their homes. (oh crap, I got 1 too, better burn the evidence quickly) Quote
David85 Posted February 20, 2005 Posted February 20, 2005 I liked the first Bionlice year, it was different and all the sets weren't the same thing like it is nowadays. Quote
spotfrog Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 I have a pretty extensive collection, so this is a tough choice. I'd have to say it's a tie between Kopaka and Turahk. Quote

Kynok Posted February 21, 2005 Posted February 21, 2005 Wolf04: I have to completly disagree with you. Reason: If BIONICLE had not come out LEGO wouldn't be half of what they are now. As you could remember, before BIONICLE came out, LEGO was going down hill, with ROBORIDER and SLICERS..come on. But then BIONICLE came out and the profits went way up. So, my middle finger will always be waving to anyone who disses BIONICLE. -BB Quote

Wolf04 Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 I'd rather see LEGO fail miserably...and have great losses and then listen to what people want than releasing the same old CRAP (emphasis) again and again. Bionicle is crap and it's only welcome in either the toilet or the garbage bag. In fact I WISH Bionicle will backfire on LEGO and hopefully something hugely bad is going to come out of it that will make LEGO never make a BIONICLE set EVER again. Quote
gylman Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 I have been pushing Lego at my kids since they were 3 years old. While they always played with it, and liked it, Bionicle has been a total phenomenon at our house the last 3 months, and shows no sign of abating. We have to realize that Lego is not just there to keep AFOLs happy. They are obviously doing something right with bionicle. My daughter, middle of grade 1, has read a whole bionicle book in the last 2 days, staying up late to do so. So...... I would sell my soul to the devil for a 3000 piece castle UCS, but obvious Lego won't make much money doing that. Maybe if they sold enought bionicles, they would throw us AFOLs a bone. Besides, I have build a few of the larger Bionicle sets, and they are not bad. You all just got to open your minds up a bit. Peace Gyl Quote
Assassin Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Personally, I have no use for Bionicle and, to me there is no such thing as a best Bionicle. Having said that though, Bionicle was not created for adults, its for kids and whatever else anyone may say about it, it's a HUGE success. Sorry Wolf04, but you sound like a rabid wolf howling at the moon, I'm all for anything that helps Lego get back into a good financial position, only then might we see the return of more stuff that we, as adults, want to see. Quote
The Middleman Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Obviously, BIONICLE works - and that's great. As long as it doesn't intrude into other sets, I'm fine with it, LEGO gets huge gain from it. I think it's a one-hit-wonder, though - they should not try to capitalize on the BIONICLE idea by releasing crap themes like the giant knights. Quote
Wolf04 Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 HA!!! What a hypocrite. You like Vikings so much, yet the sets are filled with Bionicle parts!!! :P Quote
Dark_Avenger Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Where's the "I hate them all and I would like to burn every single Bionicle piece there is" option? |:| How about personally not liking them and letting other people go with what THEY like? If no one's making you buy them against your will, there's no reason to detest Bionicle, especially because they aren't replacing anything in the system line. Anyways, the choices in the poll seem pretty limited. Kopaka's always been my favorite character, but the Roodaka set coming out looks pretty slick. Quote
Wolf04 Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 HA!!! but that's the thing, those stupid Bionicle pieces are going to other themes. I've seen them in Technic and the most in the new Vikings sets. I'm sure I've seen them in other places, I just can't put my finger on it. If you like the sets so much go join one of them Bionicles forums. I think this topic should be locked. Once in a while these Bionicle fanboys come here and revive the topic with their nonsense about why Bionicle is so great and it's just stupid. Quote

Once in a while these Bionicle fanboys come here and revive the topic with their nonsense about why Bionicle is so great and it's just stupid. Oh, you've seen them in Technic? That's odd, considering Bionicle IS Technic. Back with the first sets, they actually did don the "Technic" label in the corner, so it's rather fitting, don't you think? And yes, I have joined a Bionicle forum. Largest one on the web, too. I've been a happy resident there for close to three years now. And way to play the opinion police. "Nonsense"? There's no problem with you not liking the line, but to call other people's opinions nonsense because they don't agree with you is just moronic. Believe it or not, but your thoughts don't become universal facts that can't be argued. Quote
Wolf04 Posted March 25, 2005 Posted March 25, 2005 Putting Bionicle in the Technic line is the biggest disgrace! Technic sets are advanced sets that help kids understand mechanics and how vehicles work. All that Bionicle does is limit a kid's imagination by producing all these <insert that tiresome argument> pieces. If a kid that was only attracted to Bionicle was put to assemble a "normal" LEGO set, he couldn't probably do it in a week. There is a reason why different forums were made, so people who like the same things could talk about them. I'm almost certain that Eurobricks is not a place to discuss about Bionicle. It's mostly for Star Wars and providing information and leaked pictures of future sets and in my whole time I've been here, I haven't seen one single article on Bionicle, which is absolutely great.
