So now that it's the 2nd of April, this is no longer a cruel joke by LEGO?!?!? *oh2*

Nope!

I'm guessing it will either start out as a CMF Simpsons line, but I do hope for sets! Though, in reality, it will probably be like I said earlier- something unrelated to The Simpsons, but with the people behind The Simpsons, or Fox-related. I'm hoping for some DreamWorks sets!

Something against The Simpsons theme rumor- K'Nex is making Family Guy sets Spring 2014. It would be weird to have two Fox shows on two different construction toys. Then again, Fox can be testing their licenses by putting them on different construction toys. It is weird that K'Nex didn't get The Simpsons- which is much more profitable than Family Guy. Maybe that means LEGO already has it?

Just speculating.

Wow, those figures look awful...

Not only that but construction toys are generally aimed at children.......and the show is not for children really.....ever seen 'It's A Trap' or 'Something, Something Dark Side'....not for kiddies at all !

I still trying to find any more info on The Simpson's coming to Lego, but nothing since March. :look:

Yeah, I'm not thrilled about that at all. Honestly there is no episode of Family Guy that's even remotely appropriate for kids. The Simpsons may be a little risque at times but they manage to get a TV-PG rating the majority of the time.

That is Awsome! I love that show. You all are right, Famiy Guy is so not for kids, (but the toys are?) I don't believe TLG would ever agree to a licensed product for such a raunchy show.

I don't care if it is K-whatever, I'm gettin 'em.

Do the cows in Europe really say, "shazooo"?

We better remember that this topic is for Lego and not clone brands......so my last word on the FG is......The Bird Is The Word !

Maybe during ComicCon this year we'll hear of any other theme developments at Lego ?

Wow... step away for a few months and it feels like I missed years of information...

The Simpsons would be awesome. I'm sorry, nay-sayers, but I would commit to buy right now if possible. I'm a huge Simpsons fans, and even though it's an "old" property, it's still extremely popular with adults and kids - whether it's managed to keep you interested all these years or not, it's still a huge hit. My kids both watch (11 and 14) and love the show.

I remember having these arguments about the LOTR (before it was announced), while people kept saying it would never happen, that there's not enough set possibilities, that LEGO makes it's money off of vehicles, and there are none in the LOTR... it's the same tired arguments, now. Not enough locations, not enough vehicles... hundreds of possible characters with many more hundreds in variations, especially when you add in Halloween themes. Whether it's just figures or complete sets, I'm happy.

In fact, EB should have a building contest to celebrate - build a Simpson's location to get ready to put your characters when they're available.

Well, I'm a bit torn on the Simpsons. At least I'll be saving sme money next year(or whenever/if they come out). So, I suppose it's not all bad that TLG may be doing this.

Those FG figures are no good. But I wouldn't expect them to be. The entire cartoon has weird shapes for people (so do Simpsons). We'll see how LEGO pulls off the Simpsons. I love(d) the show, but sets are hard to wrap my head around. Granted, my 3 year old already calls all of my LEGO figures Simpsons since they are yellow. Since the majority of my collection is Licensed skin tone, she is used to seeing them.

The Series 10 Grandpa Minifigure's hair could almost pass off as Mr. Burns'. Just remove the comb over hairs on top and add some liver spots on the side.

That's a tad optimistic

I wonder if the figures would be more like Friends minidolls than minifigures. I.E less blocky. There again it might not be minifigure scaled sets at all. What about sculptures? Say the heads of the Simpson family as busts.

I asked one of the former Simspons producers on Twitter if there was anything in the works, he replied with a DM saying he knows there IS something, but he doesn't know what. Ya'll don't have to believe me, but I'm willing to believe him.

They could do the heads like the TMNT range and just have the kids with hobbit legs for scale. If they were to do a range i would imagine there'd be 5 key set possibilities;

- Simpson house set complete with sofa, TV, Maggie, Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge and Santa's Little Helper. Plus family car if LEGO go with vehicles ('if'... Haha)

- Moes with Barney, Moe, Homer, Lenny and Karl

- Power Plant with 'Nuclear Rod', hazmat suit Homer, Burns and Smithers

- School Classroom including chalk board, skateboards, Bart, Milhouse, Nelson, Skinner and Willie

- Kwik-E-Mart with Apu, Slurpy's and a few other town-folk including one Simpson

These are arguably the most recognised and used locations so i think we could expect them in a first wave. Especially scenes that feature in the opening credits...

They're not going to do a bar for a kid's toy.

It depends on how they do it, mostly the interior. They did make a tavern(4193 London Escape), so it's not out of the realm of possibilities.

The Simpsons sets will become a real version of the Simpsons Tapped Out where you can make your own Springfield. XD

I love that game  (and propably spent on it way more than I should  ).
