of the "9th race of LTR championship, 30.10.2011 Praha, Czech Republic". There is plenty of great offroad action. :sweet: Did any Eurobricks member participate in this Lego Technic Rally?

Why are they not remote controlled? They all seem to have cables out the back?

I wondered that to,it might be down to the power function signal breaking up. (not so good in a race if this happens )

I would be more worried about the cable drag or getting caught and the extra weight it adds? plus you need to run with it?

@ Burf2000: The "tethered" Lego Technic offroad vehicles have their battery boxes OUTSIDE of the vehicle, thus leading to lighter weight and greater speed. Outdoors, the sun's powerful light sometimes interferes with the Lego Power Functions infrared (IR) signal. The weight of the electric extension cables is a lot less than the weight of a battery box and PF Receiver. One has to run along with PF-controlled offroaders anyway (to stay within IR signal range).

Easy, without batteries the cars have much less weight: less weight = more speed

One of them has 4 RC motors

I love this competitions!!!

Some time ago I tried to make a competition like this in my city, but was very difficult to find many people near...

These sure are crazy and fast! And thanko the exterrior power supply, they can have more motors, less weight for batteries and multiple external batteries for more current!
