MonkeyBosun Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 So I found these forums a few weeks ago and have been reading them since. It got me interested in my old legos again, and so I rebuilt what I could and tried to make a few more ships, they aren't very good, I didnt have much to work with, and i'm pretty much finished with what I can do for now. I don't know have you can afford so many sets and such collections, but buing anything new is basically out of my price range now, it's been nearly 7 years since I've even bought a lego set. Reading these fourums though has raised a few questions for me....what is ESPG that I see every once in a while? I found the Bricklinks site but is there anywhere else to buy legos online, not counting ebay? I could try to take some pictures of my tiny fleet when I can get my camera working again. One more question...is this the only pirate lego site around? Goodbye for now! Quote
Scouty Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Hello there and welcome aboard! There isn't much else besides bricklink. I've saw other auction sites though, only lego as well. But as a buying place, no, not much on the shelf here. I hope to see your fleet soon!!! ImperialS Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted August 21, 2006 Governor Posted August 21, 2006 So I found these forums a few weeks ago and have been reading them since. It got me interested in my old legos again We endeavour to reunite you with your past interests! If they concern pirate LEGO that is! :-D and so I rebuilt what I could and tried to make a few more ships, they aren't very good, I didnt have much to work with, and i'm pretty much finished with what I can do for now. Its a start, but the main point is to have fun doing it. I don't know have you can afford so many sets and such collections, As you probably already know eBay and BrickLink are two very popular websites for acquiring LEGO. But to amass a huge collection you'll need a lot of time because some of us have being doing it for years and years now. but buing anything new is basically out of my price range now, it's been nearly 7 years since I've even bought a lego set. Unfortunately there have been any Pirate LEGO sets to buy brand new since 2001, unless you wanna pay lots of money for something MISB on the second hand market, one of those 4+ Pirate LEGO sets. Reading these fourums though has raised a few questions for me....what is ESPG that I see every once in a while? Its a blinkin accronym! I hate accronyms! Its an abbreviation those two lazy to write out Evil Stevies Pirate Game use. I found the Bricklinks site but is there anywhere else to buy legos online, not counting ebay? There sure is! LEGO's Shop @ Home is a popular one. There also countless smaller online LEGO stores which appear in Google Adds. I could try to take some pictures of my tiny fleet when I can get my camera working again. Excellent! One more question...is this the only pirate lego site around? It would seem so now that PirateBricks.com has shut down. Why do you ask? Looking for a better Pirate LEGO website already? :-D Quote
Djole Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Heya welcome aboard mate... You didn't miss anything big for those 7 years... I bought my last pirate set about 9 years ago (and then I was 10 ;-) ) there's no need for other stuff, ebay and BrickLink are highly recommended... Greetings from Serbia Quote
SkaForHire Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 welcome aboard! cool that this site rehashed your interest. I would suggest garage sales also... though i have never found lego at any of the ones i have gone to (which are actually very limited) but i know some ebay shops make their livings off of seperating garage sale lots and selling them, and i know a couple poeple who went to a garage sale and came back with 2 (yes 2!) Skull eye schooners amonst other things in the lot they bought.... now i wish i went to that garage sale.... my other favorite, if available to you (its only available to me on vacation really) is pick a brick walls at lego stores.... good bang for the buck if they have the pieces you want. Governor Mister Phes Posted September 3, 2006 Governor Posted September 3, 2006 Are there any updates from the Monkey Bosun? Have you took the pictures of your tiny fleet yet and have you found a good place to buy more Pirate LEGO? Quote
MonkeyBosun Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 well as far as parts go, Im really not in a good position right now financially or otherwise to buy much right now, although ToysRUs had some Captain Kragg boats from the 4+ line for cheap, so I got a few for parts. I have finished a few more ships, and have redone the ship already posted, but the camera is back in the shop, so I don't really know when updates will come. but they will. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 3, 2006 Governor Posted September 3, 2006 Well its good to hear (errr read) from you Monkey Bosun and I wish you the best luck acquring the parts you require to complete your creation. What are these other ships you refer to? Will you create threads for those one day? Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted September 10, 2006 Governor Posted September 10, 2006 Is the name Monkey Bosun inspired by 6235 Treasure Hunt? Given that it contains Bosun will and a monkey. I bet you lads didn't know a real bosun is sleeping in the next room from me! Quote
MonkeyBosun Posted September 10, 2006 Author Posted September 10, 2006 No, The name isnt inspired by any lego set, its not really inspiored by anything, I don't know where it came from. And I still havent forgotten, but the camera is still away, so I cant do anything till it gets back. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 14, 2006 Governor Posted September 14, 2006 You can feel free to join in the pirate discussions here if you like! Some user find that viewing and discussing other MOCs gives them ideas and inspiration for their own. However, I do not doubt that are users who don't benefit from the participation at all. Ah well... Everyone's different.... Quote
Captain Ironhook Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 We do have much like of new people to discuss things with althought perhaps my sentences are that easily read but I try my bestest to add messages of value. I look forward to discussing pirates with you in the futures. Quote

It seems to be taking an extremely long time to get back, unless it came back and you haven't informed us. Not that you're checking this thread much, but we can't hardl y blame you - can we? I suppose we could... :-D Quote
Scouty Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Has Mr. Bosun been posting recently? Maybe he's just to busy to get anything done? Quote
Norrington Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 ahoy mr.bosun, great to have you here, because it means im not the new guy anymore. lol! Quote
Scouty Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 ? He's been here since August. Also it's not a bad thing to be the new guy :-) . I'm really curious (SP) to see MonkeyBosun's collection! Quote
Evil Willy Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Welcome Monkey Bosun. I see your asking about ESPG, its Evil Stevies Pirate Game, as Mr. Phes pointed out. I am one of those who play this game it comprimises of LEGO ships, lego MF's(Minifigs) and a lot of guns and lego money, you push your ship arounds with meter stricks (Certain distances depending on your ship class and the direction of the wind) and fight with the other ships useing cannons, (Dice rolls) Your ships has "Life points" and so do your minifigs(They can fight with swords and guns) again this is using dice and rules. You also have NPC's that the Game master controls (I am a game master) so i use imperial soldiers and scropions on some islands and stuff. Hope that helps, have fun here! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 29, 2006 Governor Posted October 29, 2006 ahoy mr.bosun, great to have you here, because it means im not the new guy anymore. lol! Actually, I think MonkeyBosun signed up quite a while before you and this thread has been hovering around for a couple of months now. But I haven't exactly checked the dates you two signed up so I could well be wrong. By the way... Did I mention we have an initiation ceremony for new crew members? *skull* Quote
