lockdownTF Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 so I built a quick cheap buggy that would run round in a fixed circle. I used the power functions battery box and two motors from the 8366 RC version use a special adapter wire brick i bought off of ebay. for some strange reason the rc motors couldn't put down enough power to even move this very simple moc. when I swapped these out for a simple PF medium motor linked to the wheels by two medium cogs (one size up from smallest cog size) the vehicle instantly worked and happily ran in circles until turned off. so I'm just wonder if anyone knows what the problem might be? the motors are a bit old by now but as far as I know they still work and the pf should certainly be able to handle two RC motors since it'd be power at the most the equivlent of two XL motors Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 The PF system has a current limitter and the RC motors are very power houngry, so its easy to overload the abttery box. Quote
lockdownTF Posted August 5, 2011 Author Posted August 5, 2011 so is it possible for a PF box to power even one rc motor or would create the same problem? Quote
le60head Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 without connecting the motor trough a PF infrared receiver, as far as i know yes - one RC motor should work fine powered by 9v PF battery box. Good luck! Quote
Sariel Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 It's possible with IR receiver as well, although it may not unleash the full power of the RC motor. Example: Quote
