Zerobricks Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 First of all a massive thank to Eric Steenstra who gave me the NXT brick with all the motors and sensors! You are a legend! Seing this was my first NXT I decided to try to connect it to my phone. For that I found FunkNXt v0.9.4 by Mario Patino, which works on a variety of phones. The robot uses all 3 motors, 2 for drive and one for grabbing and lifting claws. Its a very simple and sturdy build, so I decided to make instructions in LDD: INSTRUCTIONS I know its a simple model, but hey its fun to drive it and grabbing stuff. Watch video here: Quote
JopieK Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 That is a very neat gripper!!! I will try to remember it. I will help 3 FLL teams this season (as robotics guy and computer science teacher). Nice one especially for a start! Quote
DLuders Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Here is the website to find out more about the FunkNXT software, and to download the application. @ Zblj: Do you think that an NXT-powered Trial Truck is feasible? Compared to Power Functions infrared signals, a cell phone would make it a lot easier to drive a Trial Truck OUTSIDE (in bright sunshine). Quote
Zerobricks Posted July 30, 2011 Author Posted July 30, 2011 Yes, Dluders, I think there are already some NXT powered trucks. Too bad the motors are a bit bulky, but it would work! Quote
