Hollander Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Now we have a better pic of the x-wing, I like it more now. I still think they should have chosen another fighter over the X-wing, like a B-wing or so, but I can't say it looks bad at all. The shape is sleeker than the previous version which is due to the ''slimmer'' body and the huge improved laser cannons. Quote
CMP Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Drat the commando droids are rust coloured meaning we cant replace the legs . Yes, but it looks like this Rust is actualy a new color. Though I might be wrong...*Flashes the Aanchir signal* We'll know soon enough. I think it's safe to say that TLG is going nuts with figs. Look at the Sandtrooper and the ARC. Not bad, just overboard. Obi and Anakin look fantastic as well. Looking forward to some of these. Quote
jamie75 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) I don't see the planet sets, geonosian cannon and still no Y-WING hopefully more pictures and news to come. We are still waiting pics of the UCS B-Wing and R2, too. I hope to see the Y-Wing soon! Hopefully if will be from OT, instead of CW! Maybe something will show up at NYCC this weekend? Maybe something will show up at NYCC this weekend? No, there won't be any Lego at NYCC. They don't want to be there, and won't be. This was Hasbro's first (and possibly only) time at NYCC, because they wanted to reveal figures for the 3-D TPM release... The Y-Wing is OT, as Mirandir said it comes with Dutch Vander, Leia in Ceremonial Robes and some Astromech droid... Quote
jamie75 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 The Y-Wing is OT/ Leia in Ceremonial Robes As in Yavin Ceremonial Robes, to go with the Luke and Han from the books? Maybe time to build a Yavin model: Jamie Quote
Aanchir Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Yes, but it looks like this Rust is actualy a new color. Though I might be wrong...*Flashes the Aanchir signal* We'll know soon enough. The Commando Droids look like Dark Brown to me, but of course it's hard to tell from the pics. If they are a new color, it's not one of the new colors we know about already-- those are mostly just the pastel colors from the Friends theme. I'm not sure how I feel about the new C-3PO (I was rather fond of the old one), but I like most of the other new figs Quote
The Legonater Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 It seems to me the rust on the Commando Droids is a lighting issue. The ARC looks amazing! The Ender BP seems fairly mediocre. I'll probably get it anyways. Am I the first to notice Obi-Wan's new hair mold? I'm still not sold on the Droid Escape. Or the X-Wing. I'll have to see reviews, I guess. Quote
Parrothead Rasmus Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I was wondering about the 'rust' color to. To me, it seems like a mix of the dark metal and dark red. Either way, I just don't like the Commando Droids. Their arms are way to short, and they just look BAD. Quote
MakutaNocturn Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Kris Kelvin where did you buy it? In Empik, Saturn, Media Markt or where? Please :D I am waiting for a reply. I think that we didn't have so good minifigs. They look amazing! So many detailes. Quote
CF Mitch Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Wow, awesome pictures. Loving the Jedi Interceptor. Green's a cool color for the vehicle and the new figs are cool as well. Am I the first to notice Obi-Wan's new hair mold? I don't think it's new.. it looks to me like it's the same from the CW Obi-Wan, except it's the usual brown. Regards, Mitch Quote
JimBee Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Thanks for the pics grogall (and others before him). Some of these sets look really interesting. The Jedi Interceptor is a surprise to me, but am I the only one who doesn't like the design? I'm guessing it's based off of something from RotS, but I don't remember there ever being a green JSF in that film. The design seems chunky and thrown together, unlike the very well-built yellow Anakin JSF from 2005 and the Obi/Fisto dark blue JSF from 2007. I don't know if this green one is supposed to be a different ship entirely, but I think they should've just stuck with the old design. To add to that, the "normal" Anakin is a bit of a let-down. The hair and torso/leg prints are great, but the face just kills it for me. The "good" side looks more like the Lego Voldemort than anything (it would be better without the shadows on the eyes), and the "bad" side is just creepy. I think I'll just swap out the head with the old EpIII Anakin one if I ever get this one. The rest of the sets look fantastic, though. The battle packs are really looking great now. Compare those to the 2008 Stormie one, and see how far they've come. That red commando clone looks really good with the new kama and backpack. I also love the new X-Wing and its box art. Quote

billythreechins Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Very good qaulity pictures thanks :classic: Quote
Parrothead Rasmus Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I'm guessing it's based off of something from RotS, but I don't remember there ever being a green JSF in that film. Here it is on coruscant, from Revenge of the Sith: Quote
baorap Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 2012 seems like an excellent year for Lego Star Wars. Me and my brother will be buying most of the sets, OT for me and CW for him. If there actually is a Jabba's Palace in the summer release, a Cantina Band would seem like a great fit. Quote

I completely agree about the Jedi Interceptor and Anakin figure. The Interceptor just doesn't look as good as the old yellow one to me, but that might just be because that's like my favorite small ship. And I also think that the "good" side of Anakin's head looks pretty evil- I don't understand why they bothered to give him two faces if they both convey the same emotion. But all of the other sets look excellent! Quote
North Lego Star Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) Did anyone notice the new torso printing on the stormtrooper and what's that white arm looking thing in the back? I was looking at the Bespin planet set and I think it is very possible for us to get a cloud car due to the new orangeish pieces and hopefuly we'll soon see a new cloud city soon but nothing to be saving for. CF Mitch Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) On the list of minifigs on the side it looks like lower and wider. I could be wrong, though. Hm, perhaps. Can't see it any better right now, so. We'll wait for better pics or the set itself to judge but the face just kills it for me. The "good" side looks more like the Lego Voldemort than anything (it would be better without the shadows on the eyes), and the "bad" side is just creepy Both sides of the head are supposed to be the 'bad' version of Anakin I think. Just one one side he's 'growling' or something and the other isn't. It is weird however that one has the yellow eyes and the other hasn't In my last post I forgot to mention that I agree with Brickdoctor that I will buy the Escape Pod mainly for the Stormtroopers, they're bloody awesome Regards, Mitch Edited October 15, 2011 by CF WeaZZel Quote
strangely Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 Anakin's eyes are normal when he arrives at Mustafar, but later they turn yellow (If I remember correctly a persons appearance can change as they go farther to the dark side). Pretty neat set though, I was worried about how the figures would look, but I'm impressed by the amount of detail. Quote
KimT Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 So if this list from Jedinews is true: Desert SkiffCloud Car Saesee Tiin’s Jedi Starfighter Felucian Fighter The Old Republic Starfighter AT-ST Endor Jabba’s Palace Then it's safe to assume that the Cloud Car and AT-ST are Series 2 Planet sets, right? Does that mean we'll get another Desert Skiff? And if so, why? Jabba's Palace would be much welcomed - the old one really isn't all that. It was ok at the time of it's release, but that's ages ago when it comes to bricks and design since then. OR Starfighter is a "meh!" to me which also goes for the two other fighters mentioned. Very interesting... I wonder how Jedinews learned of these rumors - just to figure out wether or not we should get our hopes up. Though in the past Jedinews has never ever failed in any rumor they put up Quote
The Legonater Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 KimT, I believe those are all System-Scale sets. Looking at this summer's sets, this appears to be a light year on my wallet. I have all 3 of the last AT-STs, so unless this one has something real special, I'll pass. Desert Skiff and Cloud Car could be interesting, depending on what's included, or they could be unnessisary remakes. I'll wait and see what the Felucian and OR Starfighter's are, and Tiin's SF I might get, seeing as I never purchased the first set with him. That leaves the Palace as the only must buy. Quote

EDIT: IMPORTANT - To anyone who hasn't actually seen these movies, the Jedi Interceptor is this ship: One model was given four paint schemes to represent four different craft shown in the film - Obi-wan's red-and-grey rendition, Aayla Secura's blue-and-grey rendition seen above, the green-and-grey rendition represented by this new LEGO set, and Anakin's own yellow-and-grey craft. We should include this kind of info in the first post so that non-Star Wars fans can be in the know. Edited October 15, 2011 by fallenangel309 Quote
